I feel so icky ... in my mind a voice is constantly telling me that I now have only two more treatments left but I feel as if I have just started with the whole thing. Getting the IV today (or any day after a resting time) is always the worst. I desperately try to keep my tea in but I think I will loose the battle.

Additionally, I think I'm coming down with a cold or something as all my limbs are aching. Ganbatte!! Need to finish this chapter and then I'll take a nap. Hopefully I will feel better later today.

Great! Glad to hear it.

Ah, this is from my work experience. :) In 2002 McLaren F1 team invited international group of journalists to their tests at Barcelona racing circuit. The hit of their program was the ride in a car with one of McLaren racing drivers. Not the F1 car of course, just Mercedes SLK, but specially tuned, very powerful, almost like F1.

I was in the car with Juan-Pablo Montoya.

http://pics.livejournal.com/rika_66/pic/0000h44c

The Columbian drove me only 3 laps, but it was quite enough for me, I confess! :) My vestibular system is not that strong, so already at the 3d lap I felt myself almost sick, like at the ship in a big storm!

But it was great experience anyway. On the main strait Montoya made almost 300 km/h! Also I can imagine now the F1 style of hard braking with it's huge g-forces - this is very impressive.

Wow, SUGOI!! Must have been a wonderful experience :) Almost like flying a jet.

From: [identity profile] rika-66.livejournal.com
Yeah, it was great! Gave me a lot of shrills. But a bit nauseous, too. You know, the strongest impression is not speed - the car is so good (and the superb driver - too!) that even at almost 300 you just don't realize that it goes SO quick.

The strongest impression is F1 style braking. This is really something special! The car, which moves at a VERY high speed, suddenly just "stops" - and begins to turn into the corner... Oh, the g-forces are SO strong that you can't hold your hear straight and your stomach just jump somewhere! =( Not a very pleasant feeling, I have to say! these F1 drivers are great athletes to go on like that for 1,5 hours of the race.

I can imagine :) Though I wouldn't mind such a ride for 1.5 hours :)

Hope you feel better today, Una!

Well, may be this small story will pick you up a bit. :)

Before my vacation I gave to one of my colleagues (the girl of 24) the disc with "Long Vacation". Before it she knew nothing about Japan dorama - that was her first experience, and I was not sure would she like it or not.

Today I "met" her in icq - she burst in with a shout: "Aaaa! Why I start to watch that series of yours??? I didn't sleep this night because ot it - began to watch in the evening and just couldn't stop!!!" From her screams and shouts I understood that she managed to see six episodes in one night one by one... She said also: "Oh, the actors are just splendid - I haven't seen such a good acting for long!"

I think she will finish "Vacations" today's night. :) My efforts in the mission of popularization Kimura-kun in Russia are fruitful sometimes.

YATTA!!! This is wonderful :) So do you have to do more Rusian translations?

Date: 2007-04-25 08:35 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rika-66.livejournal.com
Right you are! I'm already thinking about translation of "Love Generation" and "Good Luck". As soon as we finish with "Gift", I will start a new project. :)

From: [identity profile] scottishlass.livejournal.com
WOW ... you have your work cut out for you ... Too bad there is no raw version of Pride so you could time that with soft subs.

Date: 2007-04-25 09:11 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rika-66.livejournal.com
Oh, there are already some enthusiasts, who are working now on translation of "Pride"! Episodes from 1 to 6 of it already have soft Russian subs. Thanks kami, I'm not the only one who do these things among Russian dorama fans.

It's a pity, of course, that there is now raw for Pride, Good Luck of Love Generation. When Russian soft subs have to be put on English hard subs this is not too comfortable to read (I will have to change subs color for sure)... But as I always say, it's better to have something than nothing! :)

Date: 2007-04-25 09:28 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scottishlass.livejournal.com
Yeah that is really a pity with the missing raws:(
That is why I always like raws plus softsubs.

Date: 2007-04-25 09:38 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rika-66.livejournal.com
I think we all prefer raw + softs. :)

Date: 2007-04-26 12:55 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scottishlass.livejournal.com
Oh not all ... most ppl actually prefer hardsubs as it is only one file. But I always like softs as I burn the stuff on DVD as storage not as real DVDs I can pop into a DVD player. And if I need it this way, I can always convert it before burning.

Date: 2007-04-26 01:01 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rika-66.livejournal.com
Oh, I see. Usually I burn the files on DVD in the same way as you, so soft subs are "+" for me, not "-" .

You are still not asleep? It's 3 am in German, right?

Date: 2007-04-26 01:19 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scottishlass.livejournal.com
I fell asleep on my chair (a high-backed chair) and catch up on stuff happening :) But I go to bed in a quarter of an hour :)

Date: 2007-04-26 01:29 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] rika-66.livejournal.com
Oh, I see - to sleep in a chair is not so comphy, ne? :)

I went to bed already tonight: spent there about 2 hours without sleeping - and came back to PC. The one more exacerbation of my "dear" gastritis. Feel myself bad and can't fall asleep... :(

Date: 2007-04-26 01:39 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scottishlass.livejournal.com
Strangely enough I didn't fall off the chair :)

Ouch, that is not good. I hope you'll get some sleep tonight. Why not watch some Smap concert or SmapxSmap? Strangely enough that makes me fall asleep when I watch them in bed *lol*

Why not watch some Smap concert or SmapxSmap?

You will laugh, but I still don't have any of them. :)
Till now I downloaded only Kimura's films and doramas. SMAP concerts will be the next step.

Date: 2007-04-26 02:15 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scottishlass.livejournal.com
LOL :) Well Smap For U has two concerts I think .. birdman and SMap, so why not try them out and then move on from there to buy them :)
I think my favourite is still Sample Bang ... their intro (moving into Tokyo Dome) is the most arrognt and crazy I have ever seen in a band. But all their concerts are great IMHO. And Birdman has the infamous Blues Master Kill (Shingo actually falling down the stairs and Kimura rocking away).

SmapXSmap is funny, even though almost all are not subtitled, you can still get the gist of what is going on and some of their skits are just hilarious. They so don't take themselves seriously ... and Kimura as P-Chan is just adorable. The pink poodle who is a total sukebe :)

From: [identity profile] rika-66.livejournal.com
Yeah, I'm thinking about it.
One of my Moscow LJ-friends already promised me to burn a disc with some SMAP concerts and SxS in exchange for my audio records of them... After it I will decide what DVDs I will purchase in Japan.

Date: 2007-04-26 09:19 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] scottishlass.livejournal.com
Oh this is good :) SxS is hilarious, it gets addictive very quickly :)

I'll try. The only problem, I prefer to understand what people are speaking about. :)

Just found English translation of lyrics for one of my fav SMAP (Kimura) songs - Shiosai, and was very glad to find out that it is very poetic.

From: [identity profile] scottishlass.livejournal.com
I wanted to wait till there are subs as well ... but you know, I try to persuade myself I'm learning Japanese by osmosis ... though! I have noticed I get the gist of a joke not the subleties but I know why they are laughing. So perhaps the osmosis theory isn't so far fetched :)
Kya! I want to learn Japanese for real and not fall back on bits and pieces I picked up while working at a Japanese company :s

I saw your post about Shiosai - it is a beautiful song :)
