Different Worlds Apart

I just went through my to do list of this year and I'm sad to say, I have only accomplished a miniscule fraction of what I wanted to do. *sigh*
But then again I did accomplish/start something I have been wanting to do for ages ... learning Japanese in writing!!!! :)

to do list - subbing SMAP
- Kokoro no Kagami - DONE
- Kimi wa Toki no Kanata e - DONE
- Hajimete no Natsu - DONE
- Yonimo Kimyona Monogatari (Kimura one done, d-addicts did the whole 5parter)
- Furuhata vs SMAP (timing is done)
- Boku ga Boku de Aru Tame ni (timing is done)
- X'Smap Mystery (timing is done, but Yanie already subbed it)
- Konya wa eigyouchu (timing is done)
- Otouto (timing is done)
- SMAPxSMAP Nakai & Tsuyoshi climbing Mt. Fuji batsu game - DONE
- SMAPxSMAP Kimura & Tsuyoshi climbing Mt. Fuji batsu game - WIP finished by end of year
- Yomigaeru Kinro (gave up on it as the audio is too bad, I can't understand two words)

- 18th century jupe & caracao
- Regency Black Widow dress
- Turn of the century walking dress - DONE

- finish Sunshine quilt - DONE
- Apples & Candies quilt - DONE

I have so failed :( I guess I will work on the mt. Fuji batsu again otherwise I won't get it finished by the end of the year ... which is in 5 days ... CRIPES!!!!

7 hours in those turn of the century boots and my feet have open wounds and blisters all over :( Put my poor abused feet in a camomile bath and then pampered them with creams and stuff. This was the last time I have worn these boots, I swear!!!

Off to Wuppertal for the NRW Day (our state day). Tonight when I'm back home my feet will be killing me and I will probably curse and cuss turn of the century clothing for LIFE!!! It will be warm today .. nay it will be HOT today of all days ... and me running around in long johns, long over knee stockings (of wool), two petticoats, wool skirt and jacket. AAAARGH!!! Not a good day for an re-enactor when all those ppl around you oogling run around in t-shirts.

*sigh*

I haven't come across a more unprofessional team than yesterday. Goodness, we re-enactors were more professional than those three (cameraman, sound & interviewer)

Here are two pics of us - the short docu will be shown on 30rd of the July, at Aktuelle Stunde or Lokalzeit Wuppertal/Bergisch Land (can be seen via Internet and DVBT). All clothes you can see in these pictures, apart from a hat and/or military hats, have been sewn by their wearers.

It is raining ... what else is new? ... and I'm packing my bag for the shooting this afternoon. The Lokalzeit Wuppertal, a local third programme, is interviewing participants of the Official NRW Anniversary day in August and visiting my dear friend Nan today. A cuple of other re-enactors will be present and we will talk about living history and not only reading about it as well as sewing a bit or two. Afterwards they want to see us in our costumes.

After a third failed attempt to create a good pouffy Gibson Girl hair style, I hope that Nan can help me. Hopefully, pictures and stuff will be following in the enxt few days.

Damn you Whedon .. Damn you ... but then doesn't every villain need an unfulfilled or tragic first love to turn him truely evil?

I have twisted and broken my little left finger!! Don't ask me how but I sure did it. I have it in a mini cast taped together with my ring finger, but now my ring finger always falls asleep and gives me pinches and needles :s
Anyway I have to do my hair after we get back from the house viewing and tomorrow morning I have to do a Gibson girl hairdo ... waaaaahhh!!!
We decided to skip the BBQing not only because I had to go to the hospital because of my finger but also because frankly, atm I really don't want to see anyone. If I have to be a persona non grata, then I want to have it on my terms and not anyone else's.
