Spent the morning watching DVD of the 2003 MIJ concert of SMAP in Yokohama. Several things sprung to mind while watching it, namely:
+ there is no synchronized dancing in SMAP :)
+ no matter what one is always too slow and one is always too fast while dancing
+ the five are not even synchronized with their back-up dancers :)
+ Goro looks as if his band members have to drag him out onto the stage and only halfway into the concert he puts in some effort into dancing and into ENJOYING himself.
+ Nakai is a wonderful dancer, very tight and tense.
+ Nakai definitely can't sing.
+ Takuya dances like a girl, all fluent and effortless and he *twirls*
+ Takuya is a hard rocker at heart
+ Takuya is one charming rogue (in a good way)
+ Shingo is KAWAII - even in drags and as a marionette.
+ Tsuyoshi can dance - if he doesn't forget his steps :)
+ twirling is a cover for not knowing one's steps

Yeah Kimura does the aggressive part very well, even though I think he is a very shy man at heart. Sometimes on SmapxSmap there are times when he comes across as shy. I guess he has a stage persona.

Well, in his private life Kimura-san could be very shy, even "closed" home person - quite possible! But at the stage... This is quite obvious that he LOVES to be at the stage, to perform, to feel and absorb the energy of overcrowded hall... He enjoys it. And at the stage he can be and very often is flamboyant.
