Thursday next week I will be undergoing surgery because my tonsils are huge. For the past two months I had some sort of sore throat but my tonsils didn't feel achy or anything so I went to the doc on Monday and he immediately sent me to the hospital. So while I will be boring myself to dementia in a week for a week (I need to stay in hospital for five long days) think of me while you can.

I hate going into the hospital, esp. when I have to undergo surgery ... I have this very strange and illogical (for me anyway) scare of dying while under anaesthetic. Blegh!!!

My mother in law will be staying here while I'm in the hospital, so everything will be running smoothly. Thank goodness for small favours :)

Argh, I hate hospitals!!! :s Shitty stupid tonsils!

Ouch! Good luck to you. I highly recommend milkshakes for post-surgery pain and nutrition.

Tonsils is actually something I relate to a lot as I've had doctors debating taking mine out for 15 years. Apparently I've got some of the largest tonsils ever seen or something. I get a lot of sinus infections which manifests as a cough most of the time and every time we move & I go to a new doctor they do a double-take when they look in my mouth.

Wish they would have done it when they thought about it back then. I had one say he wants them out last year. Insurance required a second opinion & the 2nd guy declared the first doctor insane. But I'm still coughing after #2's recommended sinus surgery so now we're thinking 1st doctor was probably right. Especially considering the sore throat I've had the past week. :(

:( Yeah I have a sore throat as well and sinus infection is the rule rather than the exception with me (but then again I'm allergic to cats and dogs LOL). I just hope everything goes smoothly and I'm back home in five days.

Wow, you'll be in the hospital for 5 days? Isn't it usually outpatient surgery? Or maybe that's just in the US.

Well if you are a kid there is less danger of haemorrhage, but the older you get and have your tonsils removed the danger gets higher, hence my stay in the hospital where they can immediately do surgery if I get a haemorrhage. But I just hope I can get out earlier .. I have very good healing powers ... when I burnt my hand on Good Friday with hot oil, my hand was pain free and healing beautifully a week afterwards. Even though it was stage 3 burns.

If I were a kid I'd say ... it's just the tonsils ... However my stupid doc had to scare me with stuff like 'there can be a lot of blood loss afterwards as an adult' and 'it might be tumorous'.Yada yada yada. Good thing the ppl in the hospital who do surgery on this kind of stuff on a daily basis told me ... 'It's just the tonsils' LOL

If only I live where you are I would visit everyday, sing you SMAP songs, and watch old shows with you. I kkw the talking would not be possible so will stick to sign lanuage! I do wish you well. Hugs and kisses to the person who made me a friend of this community anf especially upped a broken Love Generation episode for me.
