Hands on sort of life

Greetings from the freezer of the country ... while we are not having snow (yet), temperatures drop down to -20 each night. It is windy (wind chill is really really high) and mostly a perfect sunny day, if it wasn't so damn cold. Cold water is frozen back in the barn, garden and laundry room. We need to chuck down buckets of warm water to the hens and ducks otherwise they just sit on frozen water :(
Without snow it is much colder than with snow. last year we had snow and also temps in the minus 10s but this is ridiculous :s

It ain't no winter wonderland over here :(
