Today we walked the dogs at the Rhine again and I was totally amazed. We went to the very spot about four days ago and now we had high tide ... WOAH!!
Usually we have two dykes that secure the backland along the River Rhine. The main dyke is quite high and between that and the river, we have meadows. But from the meadow to the edge of the river you still have a slight cliff which is quite steep and secured with huge stone boulders. As seen on the left side of the pic.

Well, these were gone today ... no stone boulders that lead down to the river because the river was right THERE at the top.

And the first signs of spring :)
