Preparing for autumn

scottishlassWalked at the Rhine today and took the following picture. I think it is appropriate don't you think? I love thistles and it is the national emblem of part of my heritage.
Even though the sun is shining it feels more like autumn today, and strangely enough I really feel ready for it. I long for the grey, cold rainy afternoons with the dogs lying at my feet and me at the sewing machine, a good cup of tea nearby. All that is missing is a mantelpiece and a fire int eh hearth :)
Will be off to the sewing circle in a little while. I want to line out an A-line skirt pattern for autumn and also start sewing together my pelisse.
