Memory In Death

WOHOO ... got the newest of the In Death series on Saturday and finished it just now. Okay, so I ranted about the last one of the In Death series and that I thought Nora (aka J.D. Robb) was loosing it and I have to admit I guess she took her fan's rants a bit to her heart and tried, mind you, to make this round a bit better. It is a step up .. but as she took about two steps back with her last one, this one is only slightly better.
The crime story should have been a really good angle, and we get two good scenes out of the victim interacting first with Eve and then with Roarke before she bites it, but from then on ... I just knew who did it. :-(
BUT! As most J.D. Robb and Eve/Roarke fans freely admit, you don't read an In Death book not just for the crimes (if ever) you read it for the sexual perks between Roarke and Eve. And yes we get several really hot scenes, still toned down from the usual late 90's/early double 0's sensual and erotic scenes she did, but it is a start. Besides, it is so good to see Eve and Roarke interacting and at Christmas at that. And of course all the other characters are back again: Peabody - stressing about meeting her S/O's family; McNab, though he was really underused this time around, Feeney and even Mavis and Leonardo made a short entry with baby coming soon.
All in all, it was a good read. Not marvellous or WOWZING, but good and created some warm fuzzy feeling as well as some laughs.
Now I have to wait till November (they moved the schedule) until I can get Born In Death. *sigh*
But at least in July Nora is starting a new trilogy - Celtic inspired I believe.
