scottishlassLast night one of the wittiest men in Germany died after a long illness.
Hanns Dieter Hüsch (80) was a comedian with a sharp wit and a satirical bend. He came from my neck of the woods, was proud of it and also brought out the typical dry wit of the Lower Rhineland area.
I still remember the time when I was a kid and it was a high-light to see him on TV or hear him on the radio. It's a pity he died so early, his books and shows have been very entertaining in a very intellectual kind of way with a lot of Rhenish *Bauernschläue* thrown in.
