Health is a highly rated commodity
Sep. 1st, 2003 04:55 pmTrimester check-up
Had to be at the hospital at 08:30 AM with no breakfast.
First, they took gallons of blood, then I had to drink that awful concoction again so the x-ray shows up beautifully. Had to wait an hour (still no breakfast) so the contrast liquid had time to slosh round my system. Off to the x-ray room (I bet you I am beginning to glow in the dark soon).
Afterwards off to mammography where they abused my breasts again. (why can't they just warm the contraptions up first? And why do they have to squeeze like mad??) Then clothes on again, and back to Mr. Doctor Superstar :s My bones were checked, still having osteoporosis and then I had a break of two hours and still no food but at least a small bottle of water.
Then spent two hours in the CT (CAT scan tube). Another break and to the practical doc because of my stomach pains. Ultra-sound of my lower torso, saying hello to my two kidneys on the right side (which is unusual and they are giving me trouble since last year, too), then my stomach. At 15:00 PM my doctor had all the results and we talked about that for over an hour...
Well to make a long story short, I have still another minor knot in my left breast which I have to take medication for (at least aural and not via an IV), and additionally, I have a little bloody ulcer :s Soooooo, I need to take medication for that as well :s
Isn't life just wonderful??? But at least I'm healthy (my definition anyway) ... as long as I can still work, live at home and move around without too much pain, I'm healthy, though I wish I had ONE freaking day where there is no pain at all.
