1981 - 2011

Good times, bad times, but all in all a wondrous and fascinating adventure. Hubble would have never happened without the space shuttles, they made it happen to view beautiful photos and movies from Earth's surface.

On July 20th the last space shuttle Atlantis will return to Earth for the last time and will never soar into the skies again.

It seems so weird to me that it's over. :-(

My father-in-law was there and watched it go today. He's worked at NASA since the 60s. I bet this is just heart-wrenching for him, to see it all end this way. Personally, though, I think that the new energy is with the private sector and I am looking forward to what they hit us with next. Figuratively speaking. :)

Me too, I am sad. But it had a good 30-year run, full of ups and downs. Farewell Space Shuttles!
