Woah, now this will be a first ...

While I have been talking to a snotty author by land line tonight, I came to realize certain things. First, this guy with his knows it all attitude, is the dumbest person on this Earth (except for some politicians here and there) and second, I can't work with him. So while I never turn down an assignment just based on personal feelings, I did so tonight. I blew off a job that would have paid me about 2.000 Euros minus taxes ... Now that is a first for me. EVAH!!

My head is still reeling and I really need to stop my racing heart. I just blew off money that - even though we are not in dire need of - would have been appreciated. WOW! *resigned smile* I just hope this decision isn't going to bite me in the ass. But then again I guess I can only learn from these experiences.

Sooo, why did I decline the job? Just because that guy is an asshole? YES!!! A conniving, arrogant, smart Alec of an asshole, and when he told me I couldn't understand the intricacies that go with some web design NOWADAYS - impling I was too old - I just told him to shove his attitude where the sun don't shine.

I might have come into the world at the end of a crazy decade and the beginning of a strange one. I first went to school in the 70s, was a teenager in the 80s, had a smashing and fun-filled university time in the 90s and found the love of my life in this decade (oh gosh that is over THIS FOLLOWING January!!), but I'm still not old enough to benignly ignore that snotty attitude of a 20 something who is sold as the next Wunderkind in web design. Sorry ... a no go. :)

So the question is..... Did I feel offended that he thought of me as old?
No, but I'll be damned if I waste any hours of my precious life with this guy. I'm far too young to exhibit this kind of patience for a kid which would drive even a saint to drink.

wow, good for you, going with your gut! just imagine if you had taken the job, how stressful that would have been? and jeez, what does AGE have to do with being able to understand Web design? madness!!

Age has nothing to do with it .. but this guy is so full of it ... I wish I could meet him in person and shove his rudeness up his ...

I second that ... if I had taken on the job, I would have had to spend lots of time with him on the phone probably, so my eyes and ears won't start bleeding body fluids :) This guy is like the human version of the Ebola virus :s
