Bleak April ... not so much

Usually, April around here is a very bleak and bland month. I really don't like it much. Only the barest hint of light green on the bare trees and there is still a lot of melancholy of winter in the air. It really is the month of transition.
However, this year we had barely time to go from stark, freezing winter to sun filled wonderment. Two weeks ago we has the barest of greening hints on the trees, then we had about a week of sunshine and now? Now THIS:



It's like the proverbial fist into the face ... it is green ... and not just the barest hints but full blown HUGE GREEN LEAVES!!!!!
Additionally, plum, cherry and magnolias are in full bloom and it looks as if summer has born a new spring or vice versa :)

You should ... over here they are just gorgeous ... the Japanese yellow magnolias ar about to bloom over here as well ... it looks like someone just got out a paint brush and splashed the trees :)
