Good grief, the person who tattooed Barbie Hsu those three tattoos should be shot. They look like done with a sewing needle and pen ink. The lines are all mucked up and too thick and the one on the back of her neck is just one big spludge of black ink.

Yeah, I'm watching Meteor Garden and so far I'm already at the point to just stop downloading the eps. ShanCai/Ga Eul/Makino is just so damn indecisive. In all adaptations she had more than enough time to make Daoming Si/Jun Pyo/Domyouji see reason. Honestly, I think she likes leading guys on. She all but throws herself at the mercy of Lei/jin-hoo/Rui. If she would have done it to get back at F4 and squash their rule over university/school, then this would have been the way to do it but as this isn't the reason ... it is just an half-assed job and so out of character for the girl who is always portrayed as a strong-willed, justice loving and honest.

Aargh, I know why I have such a hard time liking the manga and its live action versions.

In my opinion, perhaps those are the episodes where she's just confused? :P I think girls have those moments when torn between two boys/men. There will come a point where she'll realise who really owns her heart. *winks*

Well, she is quite vocal about almost everything else and to others about how she feels about JP ...

I watched ep8 of Korean Hanadan and also the scene in MG and Jeesh ... this is so contrived. This guy had her bullied, humiliated and wanted to have her expelled a couple of days ago and suddenly she is in love when she faces his death? ... Oh wait ... yeah I would feel relief if I were Makino/ShnaCai/JanDi. Not Love.

Anyway, even though I enjoy the series as a whole, esp. the Korean version, but I have my pet peeves with the portrayal of Makino. Which I have had since the manga came out.

Yeah, I've never understood the big deal about Meteor Garden myself. Barbie is a decent actress, but never seems particularly interested. I liked it well enough the first half, but spent the second more watching in horrified fascination after a certain event and its fallout, and then lack oof resolution. I didn't get too far into the manga (couldn't finish the first volume) so I don't know about wishywashy-ness there, but I think this version of the character is much more wishywashy than the jdrama version. Makino mostly seemed to be wary and uncertain, and then when she decided to take a chance, he'd do something to annoy her. Shan Cai just came across as indecisive and...well...not caring about it much.

I think I stopped watching MG after ep18 and then picked up at ep26 and 27 again .... nothing much had happened apart from the Ya-Men subplot ... I just couldn't stand it anymore.
Sometimes I hitnk Hanadan is contrived of obstables to drive the readers completely ga-ga. It all started with not talking to each other and listening. The whole mess could have been stopped if DOmyouji had listened to Makino about her not liking him. But then the whole story was redundant. :x
