Contrary to common belief I have seen the first two eps of both Meteor Garden and Hana Yori Dango and I didn't like either version of it, so I stopped watching both series after only two eps each. Additionally, I liked the manga only slightly better ... however ...

OMG!!!! The Korean version is soooo good. I have seen now ep1 and 2 and I can't wait to see the next. This is ohhhh sooooo good.

Off to see if they are any icons out already.

On a different note ... with all the rumours going on about LJ quitting soon, I have created a insane journal here. As soon as I have figured out how to archive and re-up my postings etc. I will get a Greatestjournal account as well. Just to be on the safe side.

You need to put the title "Crack Dealer" beside your name from now on because I followed that link and found myself staying up way too late to watch the first episode of Hana Yori Dango. And I don't even read manga!

*hand waves* Yes, yes, I could see a lot of the plot developments coming from a mile away, but the climactic confrontation was still pretty satisfying.

Hehehehehe :) Linda, there is a whole world of cracktastic mini series waiting for you :) Really, if you like drama, Angst, imagined incest, abusive, evil parents, star-crossed lovers, impossible loves, evil exes and the lot in 10 to 16 1 hour episodes, then doramas (Japanese and Korean and Taiwanese) are the thing for you.
Hana Yori Dango is a Japanese best-selling manga, and was already adapted a couple of years ago in Taiwan as Meteor Garden, then two years ago the Japanese made 2 10 eps long series out of it plus TV Special plus movie and now it is the turn of the Koreans.

I'd heard of the Boys Over Flowers manga via a friend of mine into that genre, but had no idea they'd made a live action series much less how to find it online. But now? I'm in trouble. Big trouble.

It's only about 20 episodes long? Well, then, okay. Maybe that won't be so bad. Maybe. I'll deal with the Koreans later.

You are so mean and evil. You know that, right?

Well Meteor Garden is even longer than 20 eps.

Well, you can have a look here [livejournal.com profile] jdramas, sign up and look under Hana yori dango ... you can find the Japanese version there.

Moi??? Only following the foot steps of MASTER PIMPERESS [livejournal.com profile] dangermousie who drew me into the whole thing :)

I'm just gonna stick with Hana yori dango at first. I'm up to episode #6 of the first season and I hate you for doing this to me. :p

Are the subtitles better there than the ones on the viikii.net site? Cause while they were pretty dang good at viikii, I could tell I was missing some things and some things didn't quite make sense.

Mean, mean dangermousie!

The vikii stuff is a quick and dirty job, the two eps aired on Tuesday or Wednesday this week in Korea.
The Japanese subs came out about a week/two weeks after the individual eps aired. With new doramas you always have a longish wait but the vikii folks are crazy. They are not an official subbing team (like the ones on d-additcts.com) and there are gaps in their subs.

I have finished watching the entire first season on viikii and am looking forward to finishing the download from jdrama. Thank you for the new obsession. My eldest niece thanks you too, crack dealer.
