Flist cuts

I have defriended a couple of ppl to unclutter my friends' list. Mostly I defriended anyone who doesn't have ANY postings whatsoever in their LJ. I also friended a couple of folks who had friended me but only those whose language I can understand (and read) and who share the same interests as me.
Did I miss or defriend anyone who I shouldn't?

how do you defriend someone, anyway? there are several people who added me as a friend, but they've never posted on my LJ. I didn't friend them back, but they still appear on my friends list and it's kind of annoying. Is there any way to get rid of them??

You can't get rid of them completely, though I have made my own friends' list under customization and every time I make a locked post I choose that list, so only those I consider friends actually can read it.
I cleaned up my own list as well as got rid of the little hooks on the right side.

It's just I either wouldn't know what to write or would spam with useless stuff ten times a day and annoy the hell out of everyone (I do that on ICQ). So... I've never written a diary, virtual or paper, not gonna start now^^

Yep, it's Cenour (which is Portuguese (cenoura) and means carrot) :)
That dog is a real good model :)

We didn't name him!!! It is his original name from his former owner. One of the things that is well documneted and when I read through the report about the state he was in when he was brought into the perrera (more or less a dog abatoire) I couldn't believe that his former owner hadn't been put in jail.

That was his problem. He was used as a fierce hunting dog and no good (he has no hunting instincts whatsoever) and the former owner started beating him. He beat him so hard that he broke Cenour's knee of his right foreleg. Cenour is deaf and he is not the smartest doggy in the world. When we got him 2 years ago, he was very head shy ... he ducked his head away, trying to shy away from any movement of hands and feet. So you can imagine what his former owner did to him.
But in these two years he is with us, he has become such a wonderful and healthy dog. Although he is lame, he loves to run and swim and he approaches all ppl now with genuine interest and not with fear.

Yep, me too. It is a good thing they never released his former owner's address or I would be visiting him in Spain in a heart beat.

I think I will prepare another picspam. We had the collest weather yesterday, with grey clouds on the horizon and sunshine where we went with our dogs ... very dramatic scenery and I think the photos turned out fine :)

Two years ago I came across a German animal welfare organization which tries to get dogs and cats out of Soanish perreras. Perrera call themselves animal shelter but all cats and dogs, if not finding a new home between 7 days and three weeks are put down, no matter if they are young, old, healthy or sick. Here in Germany all dogs in animal shelters are so called listed dogs, mostly pitbull and American Staffordshire breeds, no small cute dogs. You'll need a lot of paperwork to own one of the listed dogs (You need to get registered with the police and the taxes are higher for these dogs). There have been a lot of attacks from these breeds on kids and other dogs (several children were killed) thus the regulations and stuff. No cute small dogs in our shelters, so we choose 2 dogs from Spain: Chica who was already 8 years old and Cenour, 5 years old. Chica died this passed March from cancer, but given the choice I would do it all over again. Knowing she would only stay with us for 2 years, I'd take her anyway. She was a wonderful terror terrier. Now we have Chandini, who loves Cenour with a passion and almost looks like Chica :)
