Autumn Equations
Sep. 27th, 2008 10:37 pmI love autumn. Most of the days there are just minuscule changes, barely noticeable. A yellow or brown leaf here or there, some subtle russet colours overhead ...
And then ... WOAH!!
It seems that overnight the colours had just bloomed into life. Deep reds and golds dripping from branches inmidst of still green leaves. Chestnuts bleeding colours, the deep maroons of cracking chestnuts everywhere and still there are the deep greens of summer making a backdrop to the colours everywhere.

These photos cannot barely reproduce the colours that I saw. It is all so wonderous and wonderful. Basking in the sun, it feels like summer all over again, yet when you go into the shade you can feel the bite of winter already ... a perfect Indian Summer.

I finished my autumn decorations and will have to find the right place for it as our dining table is permanently occupied as my sewing table. Where do we eat, you may ask yourself ... well, we eat around the coffee table sitting on the floor. We always do ... Most ppl think it strange esp. when you have an oblong dining table with four chairs around it. I guess we will start eating at the dining table when we are creaking old and sitting on the floor is not an option anymore :)
But back to my decorations. I like to mix organic with non-organic stuff, especially as His Hubbiness tends to eat my decorations ... cashew nuts, grapes, the lot :)

Date: 2008-09-28 12:54 am (UTC)ahah! I eat at the coffee table, too, and sit on the floor working on my laptop (like right now!) I wonder sometimes how old Korean people do it, sitting and sleeping on the floor all the time!

Date: 2008-09-29 06:45 am (UTC)Love autum as well - the crispness of the air, the colours, the promise of cozy evenings at the fireplace.
I already used our fireplace once or twice, because I needed the warmth and the memories of how much Mike and I enjoyed it, when we first had it.
