Media in Japan report rumours that Kimura Takuya's wife, Kudo Shizuka is pregnant with their third child. Rumour has it that it might be a boy, after two daughters.

If this is true, then OMEDETTOU to the Kimura family. :D

Yup :) I mean with a father so handsome that kiddo will be drop dead gorgeous ... when he becomes a twen :)

Yeah though I think he was quite happy with his little girls even though in puplic (re: Engine) he seemed to have a better rapport with boys).
But with him such a talented man in anything crafty (drawing, ceramic etc.) I think he did a lot of that with his gals and now looks forward to the more manly pursuits of football and such.
If it is true I'm so happy for him and Shizuka. I guess that is their last try as Shizuka now fast approaches the 40s as well and gets into the more dangerous age of becoming pregnant.

I think most ppl - if they were to see an image of chibi Kimura - would be disappointed. Kimura didn't blossom until he got into his twenties, he was a cute but never handsome or beautiful child :)
But I'm happy for him - a boy at last. And hopefully this will be the turning point for the rest of SMAP to pursue happiness and marry.

I would be really happy for Kimura-kun if this is true.

But if the child IS a boy... To grow up in Japan being a son of Kimura Takuya will not be an easy thing for a kid. :)

Oh yes, especially if the kid takes after Kimura's father and brother who are very heavy set ppl. And if he takes up entertainment like his dad he will always be compared to him.

Beg you pardon, I don't know this expresiion, could you explain?

In fact, I've never seen Takuya's dad and brother...may be just a very small pic of his otouto's face. From it I only understood that brothers, while having very strong resemblance, are So different. Takuya's otouto has very similar features, but how to say - more heavy (?) - and doesn't not look handsome.

Heavy set ppl are ppl who have a stronger and wider set of bones. Kimura's father and brother obviously are. They are not as small built as Kimura, but with a stronger set of bones, making them wider and more heavier looking (like the pic of the otouto).
heavy set doesn't mean fat just that their bone structure is more compact and not delicate.
e.g. I come from a family that is tall and long boned ... am I tall and long boned? No, I take after my great-grandmother who was short and heavy set. *sigh* but at least I got her gorgeous red hair :)

My gut reaction? He won't. I think if his son wanted to join the entertainment circle in Japan, he would tell him to finish school and maybe study drama. But I don't think he would let him join up.

I am downloading this week's SmapxSMAP to get over my craving and just started up with trasnlating CHANGE again .. oh gosh the second ep is already out and I still have only about 10 of 45mins of ep1 subbed :o

If it is true, this news is so wonderful :) I never believed that she bullied him into marrying her, like so many of his other fans believed and still believe. I think they did it together. I guess it was a conscious decision of both of them to force Johnny's hand in the matter. They wanted to be together officially and what better way to achieve marriage if you are pregnant ;)
