and it fits ... I guess I'm a kid of my generation ...

You Belong in Generation X

You fit in best with people born between 1961 and 1981.

You are fun, laid back, and very independent.

You are willing to take risks and live your life however you see fit.

You are casual, accepting, and friendly. You see everyone as your equal.

Um... it tells me that "You Belong in the Baby Boomer Generation. You fit in best with people born between 1943 and 1960."

No wonder I feel so old. Now stay off my lawn, whippersnapper!

How is the boy-friend thing going? Did you get the money for the rent together? I keep my fingers crossed for you!!!

It is a bit off topic, but anyway, it's about generation. :)

May I ask your advice as a philologist?
In the name of Kimura's dorama "Love Generation" (ラブジェネレーション) "generation" is a subject or an action? Does it use as an "age", "breed", "cohort" of love (well, like in this pole "You belong to Generation X) or as "building", "generating" of love?

I'm translating the subs in Russian now and confused a bit about the title. My first impulse was to translate it as a "subject" - as it is used in "The Love Generation" (hippie). But later I began to think that may be I'm wrong. I asked alexandral, but she also is not sure about it. She said may be you could help. Please~!

Woah .. that is really difficult. I thought it was always used as generating love instead of like the 1960's movement.
Especially as Generation (as in the ppl living in a certain day and age) is 生成 in Japanese.

Thank you very much for advice!
In fact I myself was closer to deciding on "generating love", especially because in the series they speak so mach about the different ways love could born.

Yep, so I guess you can translated it as learning to love or Creating Love in Russian.

At a moment I translated it as "Зарождение любви"? but later may be I think about some other varionats. I'm only at the very beginning of work. I translater the 1st ep. and now working on the 2d...

Oh, I know what else I wanted to ask you on the subject! Could you give a look when you have time?

This is in 2d ep. Teppei says the phrase to his collegue that I can't understand. What does he mean by that?

T - Teppei C - colleague

00:18:28,108 --> 00:18:29,843
T - What is the meaning of instructing the boss?

274
00:18:29,844 --> 00:18:32,880
C -Everyone's upset at the way you work.

275
00:18:32,881 --> 00:18:35,616
C -We don't like people from the
Business Department interfering

276
00:18:35,648 --> 00:18:40,854
C - Your task is just to collect the
research data, do the marketing.

277
00:18:41,321 --> 00:18:43,457
C - So please get the data compiled.
Work all night if you have to!

278
00:18:43,924 --> 00:18:45,259
T - Fine. I understand.

279
00:18:45,392 --> 00:18:48,028
T - I won't interfere with the
planning group's ideas.

280
00:18:49,530 --> 00:18:52,199
T - I'll compile the data the way you want it.

281
00:18:52,232 --> 00:18:56,770
T - So please, please keep on
working with me. Please.

282
00:18:57,838 --> 00:18:59,973
C - Why has it come to this?

283
00:19:01,275 --> 00:19:05,779
C - So you're really one of those who
will bow to people so easily.

284
00:19:05,780 --> 00:19:07,147
C - I am merely a former colleague,
doesn't it bother you?

285
00:19:07,148 --> 00:19:09,116
T - It doesn't bother me
that's why I'm begging you!

286
00:19:13,654 --> 00:19:16,723
T - I don't want to lose to the idea
of those who refuse to bow to others.

287
00:19:21,628 --> 00:19:23,096
T - Please.

Wakarimashita!
He hates to lose to his bosses who think they can belittle him by putting him in the business and not the creative side of his job.
He means that these bosses don't know how to be humble and just work on, even if it isn't the job they really want to do.

It is .. and it is so atypical a thought for a Japanese salary man ... I guess the director wanted to show the difference between Teppei in the beginning - an unyielding, not typical Japanese - and Teppei who does everything even bowing to get his love.
