Autumn has come upon us. Quickly, sneaky almost unnoticed and I love it. The leaves are still a deep, heavy green with the barest of golden and maroon hues in them. Soon they will be aflame and the last of the wine, victuals will be harvested and put away for winter.
I love this time of year, it is getting darker earlier than in the summer, the sun a fiery red and orange globe in a golden-pink tinged sky.
Same old, same old and yet different, yet always new and unique and genuine. And this year the first time without my grandparents. Now only two generations are still alive .. so many gone, but never forgotten.

I have started to read my *autumn reading*
for long bathtub sessions, a glass of good Sherry or a pot of warm vanilla or coconut tea, fragrant candles and Tom Waits on the stereo

Well, Una, I don´t know what sounds better - the long bathtub sessions, the candles or the sherry (vanilla or coconut tea is not my cup of tea). The booklist is impressive. I can tell you that "Bet me" has not yet left my bedside table. I sometimes just re-read parts, like the dinners with the parents - or when they eat chicken marsala.
That reminds me. You recommended the "...in Death" books by J.D.Robb to me. Which is the first one, or can you even give me the complete order?
How is your shoulder doing?
Greetings and Huggles from Kölle

My shoulder still bugs me but I can at least move around (and dress myself) again without too much pain : )

The book list also consists some fan fiction, like Moving Finger, Literary Giants, Dust and Tangled Web, but they are quite good and Jackie copped a contract at a publishing house (YAY!)

Here is the complete ... In Death booklist:
as I said it plays in 2053 in New York but you soon forget that as the characters and plots are very strong. And the moment you read about Roarke ... oh well, I'm looking forward to see what you think of the Irish Rover and *his* cop. (Additionally all the other characters are well defined, Peabody, McNab, Mavis, Feeney etc.)

Naked In Death
Glory In Death
Immortal In Death
Rapture In Death
Ceremony In Death
Vengeance In Death
Holiday In Death
Conspiracy In Death
Loyalty in Death
Witness In Death
Judgment in Death
Betrayal in Death
Seduction in Death
Reunion in Death
Purity in Death
Portrait in Death
Imitation in Death
Remember When (first part of the book is a normal Nora Roberts mystery and then it turns to Eve Dallas as the story takes place 50 years later)
Divided in Death
Visions in Death (published in 09/2004)

I am also in line with my few JD Robb books waiting for my darling Goddess to point out the correct order ...

Though I don't have time to read them right now anyway ...

Lotsa love,
Elf

P.S. Who is upsetting my Goddess?

List is above. And you should start with Naked In Death ... to get into the dynamics of the Eve/Roarke relationship - and their first time together ... it's a hot scene :)

I just printed the list and shall check at home what I have ...

And yes, Tangled Web by Jackie is for me one of THE best fanfiction stories I ever read. YAY for her contract!
