"The general opinion of “Revenge of the Sith” seems to be that it marks a distinct improvement on the last two episodes, “The Phantom Menace” and “Attack of the Clones.” True, but only in the same way that dying from natural causes is preferable to crucifixion."
from The New Yorker review

Just exactly what I thought. Thank you, dear staff writer.
Will only add the following: maybe I'm getting old or am loosing my fangirl/geekgirl status, but I was so not impressed. The kaboom and phwoar was overwhelming, too much SFX and just too little story. The dialogues have become even cornier than in the first two prequels and most of the actors seemed to be bored with their characters.
Ewan, did you phone in your performance or what?!
Hayden, even if I don't like you for the dig against BloomieBoy, I hope you won't suffer the Skywalker fate like Mark Hamill did, as you are a decent actor, but man, Chris Lee and some others just played you plain against the wall. Stop trying so hard!

Most hated performance: Natalie Portman as Padme. And the Anakin/Padme relationship.....chemistry very much lacking.

And what was with those wipes...It's like when you find out about all the different effects in powerpoint and you put them all in the one show. Star wipes/ circle wipe/ diagonal wipe. There are other ways to indicate a scene change George!

Errr yeah.

George Lucas always does crazy wipes in Star Wars. It's practically tradition! ;)

I know. But I just noticed them in this movie and it bothered me. ~shrug~ What can I say, I'm usually a very tolerant movie viewer.

Didn't you hear? Hayden Christenson wants to give up acting. Says he's sick of having to comprimise his integrity in Hollywood.

Oh, piffle. He's just being a Young Actor with Integrity and Vision(tm). It's all the rage nowadays with Canadian actors. At best he'll keep "dabbling" in movies but he'll never really give up.

But darnit, he's so cute and puppy like I can't hate him for it.

*slinks off to watch Revenge of the Sith again because the geekiness of the film over-whelmed her with the geek of much geekdom & woe*

Oh please. *rolls eyes* His integrity my ass. If he is so eager to protect his integrity then he would do it like Johnny Depp and only do scripts that mean something to him or have political/social whatever impact. Or do theatre.
But let's face it .. he ain't good enough *teehee*

Una - feeling bitchy :)

Yeah. Ian McDiarmid, wow. Christopher Lee, similarly wow. Jimmy Smits... okay, I'm seriously fangirling Bail Organa. I just, am.

Upside to Darth: he looked good with his shirt off. Um, before the lava.

Wish George would've added Shirtless Han Solo in all those "updates" he did to the original sacred trilogy.

Oh wait, he still might yet. ;)

I'm actually under the belief that Ewan saved the movie. I'm not huge into the extended mythology of sw (books and the like), but I know enough to know that Hayden is a terrible actor and Obi-Wan saved the day for me, once again. It's funny, he seems to do that a lot with all of the movies, both Alec Guinness and Ewan McGregor.

Dialog . . . *chuckles* How about that wonderful shot of a freshly rised Vadar screaming "Nooooooo!" like he didn't make it to McDonald's before breakfast ended.

Or . . . this one was my personal favorite - "I sense a plot to destroy the Jedi . . . *thoughtful*". *sigh* It's sorta sad really.

And sadly enough, aside from Obi-Wan, Padme had my favorite line in the movie. "So this is how liberty dies. With thunderous applause." I thought was a cool little line.

Oh, and one can not forget the memorable love scene between Padme and Ani
"I love you!"
"No, I love you!"
"I love you more because you're beautiful!"
"Well, I love you just cuz. Ne ner."

*sigh*

I was about to say something marvelously witty but I found myself trapped by your icon, trying to decipher its meaning.
