Today was a beautiful day, soft, smoothe, warm ... all in all glorious. My shoulder is still bugging me but sitting in the park with a laptop in hand and just *being* and enjoying the last of the summer vacation days with Olly was a nice change of pace.
Olly was nappping, enjoying the sun, while I tapped away on his laptop and listened to his breathing.

[...] She did not know what to suspect once she stepped over the treshold but even as she turned the lock on the door, faintly smelling lemon and linseed oil, a shudder of anticipation ran down her spine.

Taking a deep, shuddering breath, she closed her eyes while the door swung slowly open. Even with her eyelids closed she was able to see the colours ... oranges and reds assaulted her retina and for a moment she thought she was mistaken, that her eyes were not yet closed. But with each careful step into the room beyond the treshold she could actually feel the colours surrounding her.

Slowly, she opened her eyes, blinking owlishly as her brain tried to process the sudden assault on her retina.
Deep hues of jewelled colours danced across the counters and shelves, deep blues, sunshine yellows and deep emerals greens slanted across the walls and the beige tiled floor, turning the room into a symphony of colours. It seemed she could smell the colours and stepping into the pools of light that slanted through the bullioned Tiffany windows, it seemed she could actually feel the colours as well.

The blue hues seemed cold with an inner fire, while the greens seemed to soothe her with warmth while the yellow light caressed her. The white counters were rioteous with colours too and the whole kitchen emanated a warmth and calmness that brought her back to her childhood days, when her greatgrandmother stood over the oven, creating one of her marvelous dinners and her even more seducing desserts. In front of the tall windows the old oak table gleamed in the light, scrubbed clean and smoothe from many wiping downs while the old mismatched chairs gathered around in anticipation as if to wait for another generation of children waiting impatiently for greatgrandmother's meals.

I can absolutely feel ans see myself in the scene you wrote. Thank you for making me fly across space and time to some place I'd love to be, right now.

Lovely!
