scottishlass: (KS SMAP Purple)

As [livejournal.com profile] rika_66 as already posted the song today here, I thought to post the lyrics for it. Спасибо за твердую работу! I wish she would post more in English! Her reviews and thoughts about Jdramas and SMAP are just wonderful :) *nudges [livejournal.com profile] rika_66*

Since everyone has different environment
growing up in,
you can't blame anyone for having
(different) likes and dislikes.
You may not like summer,
and you may happen to like Serori (Celery).

Furthermore we are a man and a woman.
It can't be helped not clicking exactly.
We may have to compromise,
and may sometimes expect too much.

What kind of chances,
what kind of timings,
happened to bring us together?

The time I'm longing for,
The night I'm yearning for,
I wanna stay with you,
as long as possible.

Originally we are complete strangers,
so you can't blame having different values.
You might like the fads,
but also like the good old (traditional) ways.

I cannot be with you
bending my characters,
holding down my thoughts.
We cannot get along well that way.
I wanna stay with you
as long as we can
having a wonderful time.

I'll try to do my best as much as I can.
(I want you to) try to do your best a little more.
After all is said and done,
Frankly speaking,
I just like you.

My English is good enought only for chatting, not for writing reviews in it. :)

Oh come on, your English is very good otherwise we couldn't talk so much indepth about stuff. Besides, I seem to hijack almost any thread you post :D

Why not? I'm not against at all.

As for reviews in English... You see, for me friendly conversation, even about very serious matters, and review (that for me is some kind of art work) seem to be two different things. I'm not hesitate to chat with wrong grammar and other language mistakes, but I really feel shy about them in reviews.

Okay, I can understand this. But it is a pity, really, But I can understand why you feel it wouldn't be sufficient if you write in English. Same with me in German, I couldn't write reviews in German even if my life depended on it :)

You want to say that your English is better, than your German?! ^___^

Way better! Even though I was raised bi-lingual, my English is much better than my German, esp. my written English. At university I had to look through my mates English papers but I was the only one who had someone to look through my German papers (for German Lit and History). I use English grammar most of the time :s

Oh, I see. Was it because you was raised in Britain?

As for me, I don't remember anything of English grammar, except "no future after "if" and "when" rule. ;)

Oh no I was raised in Germany, but I never went to kindergarten and as my mother was off working all day (and off partying all night) my greatgrandparents took care of me, and my granny spoke English and both spoke the Lower Rhine are German dialect. I came to school being able to speak English like a native and with the local German dialect. I had to learn *High German* at school. I guess that is why I still have problems with German :) You should listen to conversations with friends, if they are able to understand English I always mix the language. Sometimes German words are beyond me, so I use the English words instead.

Oh, how interesting! Was that local dialect so far from classic German?

The dialect is not so much an accent like Bavarian or Saxon, but it is similar to Dutch. Additionally, this area was pretty much influenced by France (it was occupied in the early 1900's, in 1870 and during WW1 and WW2) so we use French words but have Germanized them. Best example is *visitez ma tente* (visit my tent) - from this offer of French soldiers to young girls of the area, the LRA synonym *Visematentchen* comes from which means don't do any hanky-panky. We have a lot of bastard French in our dialect.
Also, Lower Rhine Area dialect uses a tense that we do not use in normal German, but is used in English (Present Progessive/Continuous)
English: I am working
LRA German: Ich bin am arbeiten
High German: Ich arbeite (which translates to I work) - Lower Rhine Area German is cute, esp. as it also has a special melody to speak. Even when we speak Normal German, the melody of sentences is a dead give away that you are from the area between Aachen and Kleve.

The lyrics is so wonderful :) Thanks for sharing! I had wanted to add [livejournal.com profile] rika_66 into my f-list but unfortunately, like you said, she does not write in English too often hence I do not understand :D It'd be great if she did, though ^^

I can understand [livejournal.com profile] rika_66 when she said she feels she cannot convey her thoughts in English when she is writing a review, so she won't post in English. But it is such a pity that not a lot of ppl from dorama_chat/SMAP can read her entries. I just loved her recent bushi no ichibun and SMAP songs reviews.
Good thing I can read Kyrilic at least, so I know the gist of what she is writing about, but man, most of the time I have to guess as some of the words don't appear in my dictionary *lol*

And Dian, your icon is just LUV!!

Heee... I love my "kimura glasses" icon too :) I ADORE Kimura in your banner, btw. I adore going to your page, period, 'cause the banner and layout is simply so my type, LOL. Of course, I love my own layout too, now, thanks to you, haha. *hugs*

I know, I know... Poor Una... I'm afraid I use slang words too often. :)

Don't worry most of the time I understand what you are saying :) And it is good to challenge me like this - I think now I can understand more kyrilic than I ever did during my university courses *LOL*

Than this is great! I feel proud of you (and of myself, too - that I make you to put your Russian language back in a good shape ;) )

LOL ... feel proud of yourself!! I tried to avoid Russian for the longest time in years :)
Btw, I did read your posting today, but didn't comment because I find not words on how to change things in your country. I'm aware of some of the aspects in Russian economy and also how life changed from the USSR to Perestroika to now the Putin Russia, but somehow I find no words. :(

but somehow I find no words. :(

((Una)), don't worry, in fact I didn't really wait you to make comments to that post of mine. So don't feel obliged to say anything if it's difficult, or the theme is not comfortable for you - I understand quite well that for a foreigner this is difficult to comment the situation. I wrote about our inner pains, frustrations and sorrows, when we recall the collapse of the country we were born in, and the decade of chaos after it, in 90s.

I find not words on how to change things in your country.

Well, from my personal point of view, :) the way things are changing in last 6-7 years is quite good and the right one for us. There are still enough of very serious problems, but the life became so much better since 90s that it even difficult to compare. This is like night and day. The whole atmosphere in society is different: if in the 90s it was mostly depressive and apocalyptic, now it is more energetic and optimistic.

Theoretically, my country - or better the re-unification of my country was one of the reasons of the downfall of the USSR. So you are right, I do feel umcomfortable.

You are welcome.

Atm I'm looking for the lyrics of Hito-eki Aruko, I just love this duet with Kimura and Katori.
I guess I have to use an online translator once I have found the lyrics in Japanese and try to at least get the overall meaning of the song.

I simply love their duet in this song, too. Hito-eki Aruko is one of my favs of SMAP.

BTW, I still keep "Hito-eki Aruko" in "downlod mode" for friends in my LJ, so if you manage to translate it in English, you may put the link for it again. It is here: http://rika-66.livejournal.com/31864.html

I found a romaji version of the song but in order to translate it online I need it in Kanji *sigh*
But I will include your link once I post it :)
