On June 9th there will be a Regency salon event again at Schloss Wahn near Cologne. So now I have been thinking the whole day on and off what to wear. It will be an evening event though it will start already at 3 PM and will take place in the beauitful historic rooms of above mentioned castle. We will have a total of five rooms available as well as the terrace and park so appropriate foot wear and clothing is necessary.

Anything goes from 1800 to 1810 which isn't so much a problem as I have already two evening dresses just for this occasion. BUT! *sigh* I have already worn them to similar events last year and now I'm thinking about making a new dress or two :)

I raided my stash and came up with four different fabric (which all have about 5 to 6 yards which is enough for a dress):
2 historic fabrics (printed cotton copied from actual Regency patterns)

Or these silk muslins

both are sheer, so I have to at least line the bodices if not the skirts as well.

The black silk muslin would be the most suitable for evening wear, but it is black ... hmmm... think, Una, think!

ETA: I think it will be the blueish-purple muslin. I definitely have to wash it first though as it stains :s Now I have to check if it is historic if I line it with coloured silk - I'm thinking either blue or light green (which would make a stunning effect).

The printed fabrics are pretty, especially the first one. But I also think that the sheer fabrics are beautiful, especially the blue violet one. Dress of sheer fabrics is classy and sophisticated. :)

Yeah I guess the blue violet one will be made into a dress :) Probably more like a tunic with underskirt as the fabric is not very wide.

Eeee! I'm sure whatever you wear will be gorgeous :) You should share a pic or two with us! And the place at which the event will take place looks beautiful. I love the historical feeling! ^^

I'll try to get my photo taken, but I will definitely take a picture of the sewing process as well as the end product :)
