Hello November ...
Nov. 2nd, 2010 10:34 amwhere has the year gone???
So much happened during these past months that I barely noticed the passage of time, or rather that I noticed but every moment, every image was so new, so overwhelming, that moments blended well into each other and became a blur of events that still leave me gobsmacked.
Settling ito the rhythm of our new home has been kind of smoothly. It still is so new that the quirks of our new home are still a bit of a surprise rather than a nuisance (electricity outages) though the lack of actual neighbours (well neighbours who are at home during the day that is) concerns me a wee bit.
There are days where I do not see anyone for a good portion of the day. The dogs keep me company while I work on various projects but when I walk the dogs it seems as if I'm the only person at this neck of the woods. Of course, there is a farmer and his farming machine in the distance but no one you can actually talk to.
I hope it will change a bit when I start to work again ... my professional work that is.
Halloween was a quiet affair but we decorated nevertheless. I wonder what will happen here during Martinmas. Traditionally, Saint Martin will go through the town/city/village and sharing his mantle with the poor and kids going Kripschen with paper lanterns. They go from door to door and sing Martinmas carols and as payment they get sweets and treats. I wonder if that is done here as well ... I guess I need to stock up on sweets :)

Well, hello November. My birth months ... usually it was something to look forward to because of EIleen coming for a visit but this year it seems she can't make it.
