Celebrating life

Today we drove up to Wesel which is about 70 kilometers North of my home town to have chica's body cremated. It was a nice, simple little affair and we were with Chica all the way up to the cremation oven as well as watching as after just an hour, her remains were put into an urn. She had so tiny white bones ... little vertebraes and rips, and really tiny toe bones. We even recognized a small tooth before it all was ground down.
Now she is safely put away in a wooden urn and once the weather improves her ashes will be distributed at her favourite spot at the River Rhine.
