scottishlass: (SAAB WTF)
The president of the United States said on the topic of torture:
"... is to make it clear to the world that this government does not torture and that we adhere to the international convention of torture, whether it be here at home or abroad." However, he also said that persons should not be prosecuted who tortured and didn't know that torture is bad and banned.
HELLO? Ever heard of the human rights convention? Or even common sense?
That sounds like those folks who sued the US cigarette industry by claiming they didn't know smoking is a health risk.

I'm sorry if I offend any of my US friends, but let's face it, you are a strange kind of nation, aren't you?

TGIF - and I have *whispers* time on my hands today */whispers*
Looking at my lists of lists on what to do I don't know where to start, but I'm quite confident I will try out my new little sewing corner and remove myself to the bedroom and finish the bodice of my green Regency gown and will draft up a pattern for another gown with front bib AND a black pelisse.

Name 5 of life's simple pleasures that you like most, then pick 5 people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used. Tag 5 people on your list.

1. Lazy Sunday mornings when you know you can snuggle back into bed because you don't have to work or go visiting anyone.

2. A good book that is so good you can read it again and again.

3. The memory of loved ones, there is a sound or a smell and you remember someone and there are *there*.

4. A long hot bath after a gruelling day.

5. A finished project, be it a story or a dress. To know that you did this yourself, on your own.
