About two weeks ago I changed our DSL contract from DSL 1000 to DSL 6000 connection and requested that they first send me the new modem and then make the switch. *sigh*
Of course, the modem is still somewhere with the Telecom and yesterday they already switched to the higher connection.
Suffice to say, our old modem doesn't handle the higher rate and our internet was dead. Why is it that the Telecom always seems to screw up my line? When we switched back from ISDN to analogue I asked them specifically not to switch off our DSL connection. What did they do? They switched off our DSL but kept the ISDN phone line. *bangs head on desk*

But unlike His Hubbiness™ I handled the internet-free evening very well, no twitching, checking the modem and trying to bitch about the internet. Hehehehe!!!
Watched Karei-naru Ichizoku again and I'm still as shellshocked as I was first time around from the last ep, but expect a review son.

P.S. YATTA!! The connection IS faster (they switched us to DSL 3000 for now which our modem can still handle)!!!

*smile* You know, T-Online is messing up all the time. We had so much to hassle with them until now... We moved and wated to take the phone number with us, but wanted a new DSL contract, as the old one was a business one by my ex-stepfather. It first looked like it worked, but after one month we got 3(!!) invoices with 3 numbers and none of them were right. Following up were some weeks full of trying to get one of those customer-service-people to understand the problem.

One month after that we had no connection anymore and the customer-service told us, we had cancelled the connection (which usually only goes via Einschreiben)... I could talk for hours, becuase this is not really the end to this story. We "cancelled" three times, got about 4 new IDs... *sigh* Now we've changed the Provider, the customer-support know what it's doing and... the T-Online is causing trouble by blocking the server... *lol*

OMG ... yeah this is so typical T-Online. I mean they could provide a better service if they had techies that actually had a *Ausbildung* with T-com to know what their whole technical stuff is all about but as they are outsourcing their whole hotlines, no one really knows what their whole technical stuff is all about and ppl just work off a check list.

Last year the T-com router was out of order, I phoned the techies and told them, hey could you check the line we don't get any DSL signal. The first thing the hot line guy asked me was if I had switched on my computer ... that question didn't go well with me as I had told them before, cut the bull, we have a network here, all network cards, modems etc were checked, and the DSL line signal isn't green on our splitter (which means no DSL juice from T-offline). He actually ignored all this, treated me like a little child (okay, my voice does sound like a little girl's over the phone so ppl always ask to speak to my parents *rolls eyes*) but that was really enough. he even suggested to buy a new modem. I just disconnected and got another techie, said my stuff and he actually did check the line and said, it was the router on the server side *sigh*. Sometimes it is so frustrating to be more of a techie than the actual techie from the T-online hotline.

*lol* My mom had those clueless techies, too. In the end she was sooo frustrated with things that she asked to speak their boss and asked for her "Durchwahl" if anything goes wrong again.
After that we had only minor problems and if there are, she calls the boss and everything goes kinda smooth... *gg*
