Last night His Hubbiness™ had to show his obnoxious (read: highly annoying) side again. He was looking for a DVD he had obviously misplaced. Of course, I was to blame as I had ONCE lend out a DVD that we didn't get back to this date. This event happened oh ... some 7 years ago? And I have definitely learnt my lesson since then, but hey, I am the one who contiuously lends out DVDs ... yeah right. Anyway, it so happens that about a week or two ago Mr. Obnoxiousness™ re-organized his DVD shelves. Bette, bigger, faster ... I didn't help him because DVDs are his thing, so I keep my Dorama DVDs far away from his as to not being accused of messing up his super-duper organziation.
Well he couldn't find the DVD he was looking for and got bitching ... Did I lend it out? I was the last person to have it in her hands and so on, and on, and on. Most of the time I grunt and nod and make a few noises when he is in this mood, and once he grumbles off, I get looking (and mostly finding) the required item(s). Last night was no exeption. As His Hubbiness™ went to bed, I had a look at the DVD shelves again (even though His Hubbiness™ told me that he had already checked and the DVD in question was NOT THERE). Well, being the mistrusting and suspicious little thing that I am, I got another look ... and lookee here, high on top, between the Millennium series boxes and some other obscure series, there is the DVD in question. In fact this is the very row of DVDs that His Obnoxiousness Hubbiness™ re-organized not a week or so ago. Who was the last person who had the DVD in his/her hands? Certainly not me. Baka!
Oh well all is well in Scottishlass'Land again ... for now.

But you know while I was looking at places where His Hubbiness™ thought I had misplaced his DVD, I came across my old diaries - yep the book variety. So what did I do on March 27th 1997? I was preparing for the final stages of my MA (in History it seems), still lived alone, got over a heartbreak and all in all seemed very content. Here is a snippet - do I sound crazy or what?

27th March 1997 ...
Am DEAD!! Need to study, study, study. HELP!!
Work is boring as usual, but I see more of my work colleagues than my study colleagues at uni. ARGH! Is this really supposed to be? This rush? Good thing my EngLit papers are dealt with, my linguistics test went smoothly and like a charm and it is only the written examination in ... bleh ... Geschicccccccchhhhhhté ... GOD, I HATE European esp. French history. And who really cares what Robespierre said in that or this medaire??? ARGH!!!!
I wish I had a time machine and then I would skewer and maim all those important ppl and kill them ... French Revolution? Not happening ... Una - Not having to learn ... ERGO: I'm a free woman!!! Not! *sigh* This whole studying has a detrimental effect on my brain ... my mind goes mush ... or crazy ... or both. *gaga*
What is it with men? Got a letter (of all things) from R. and he told me he misses me ... misses me??? Het bedriegen asshole!!! You were the one who broke it off. No, I won't get mad, I won't I won't I WON'T!!!

Oh my. Your journal from 10 years ago made me laugh ^^ It's funny that a few of my LJ friends have written (in these past few days) that they found an old document/journal of theirs and when they read it again they (like you) had the "OMG I wrote this?????" reaction :D

Re: DVDs. When I was still living with my parents, apparently they must have thought that I was the tidiest / most organised, and liked to chuck out anything that seemed to have served its purpose (read: no longer functional, LOL). And everytime anyone in my family was missing something, they'd go "Heh. Ask Dian. She probably chucked it ou" - LMAO. I remember how pissed off I could get when that happened ^^

Heh, I used to keep a journal when I was in my teens (between ages 11 and c. 18, with varying regularity). Funnily enough, most of the comments seem to be fairly similar in subject matter to the ones I make even now: book & film comments, some personal stuff, and some occasional prettyboysqueeing :).

I still have the books and some of the contents make me cringe now when rereading them.

Oh my word, don't give me ideas! I'm going home for Easter, and now I'm just itching to get out my old diaries and look up what *I* did 10 years ago! *cringe* Might be lucky though that I cleaned out my room in my grandparents' house and the diaries are somewhere in a box.

*lol* I think old diaries are great. Some months ago, I found my old collection of diaries, written at age 11-17 and it was sooo funny. Many of those things were already forgotten by me and it was really funny how I wrote about all those parties I had at home and with friends... Maybe there will be something funny to post, too (That would give lots of laughs!!)
