The following ficlet was inpsired by [livejournal.com profile] dangermousie who wanted a bit of iswak p0rn. However, while writing the story I realized I can't bring myself to write anything about Zhi Shu and Xiang Qi that is remotely NC-17. I guess I still see them as High Schoolers rather than adults they are now at the end of season one. Even the make-out on balcony photo from the recent iswak 2 photoshoot didn't inspire me one bit *sigh*. Anyway, I hope you still enjoy this little tag scene:

It Continues With A Kiss
Zhi Shu paced in front of the window as night fell over Taipeh. Xiang Qi was taking a shower and for the moment he took comfort in the noises coming from the bathroom. It seemed normal, almost like the usual. He could imagine being in his old room, listening to the noises of the household. But no … he wasn’t at home, and this was not a usual night.
He was glad that Xiang Qi had gone against his mother’s wishes and had booked the bridal suite at the Imperial Dragon Hotel. He was already concerned and crazy enough worrying about the night ahead, he was sure he would have gone mad to know his parents were actually only a wall away at home.

Mom would probably want to record it, he thought with a smirk. Facing the window, Zhi Shu closed his eyes for a moment and rested his forehead against the clear pane of the window.

That would definitely top it, his wedding night on digital camera. Lord! Could his life get any crazier?

Ever since meeting Xiang Qi these past 5 years ago his life had been send into a tailspin of turmoil and tonight was no exception. All his studying, his genius, and his upbringing hadn’t prepared him for this.

For the better half of the last five years, her love had been the one constant in his life. Her love had been a comforting blanket around him and more than once it had helped him getting through his studies and the atrocious time at his father’s company. But tonight, he felt that even Xiang Qi’s and his love was not enough to get him through this night.

No, that wasn’t it, he thought. Their love for each other had actually brought them to this very room, brought them here.

He still remembered the hushed conversation with his father about tonight. His father acting all jovial and gushing about taking care of Xiang Qi and her needs. Zhi Shu had felt so embarrassed even though he had born the situation with a stony face. He was already nervous enough as it was without his father giving him half-assed advice about the wedding night.

Lord, he couldn’t stand it anymore. Was it always like this? This sickly-happy feeling in the pit of your stomach? He knew the moves – theoretically - but what if Xiang Qi didn’t like it? What if she wasn’t ready for this kind of intimacy? Were they compatible?

He sighed and shook his head. He just hoped he didn’t do anything wrong.

With a sigh, Zhi Shu sat down on the bed only to jump to his feet again. He didn’t want to appear too eager and sitting on the bed … No, that wouldn’t do. He continued pacing, listening to the shower being turned off. He knew that it was only a matter of minutes now.

He just wished this night was already over.

Xiang Qi stared at her reflection in the mirror. She felt strange. After 5 years of hoping, craving, and yearning, she should be happy.

Zhi Shu and Xiang Qi.

Xiang Qi and Zhi Shu.

She still couldn’t believe it. Sure, she had attended her own wedding, hadn’t she? Somehow all of this felt so surreal. What if Zhi Shu had changed his mind? What if she wasn’t enough? He was a genius and she made it barely out of F class.

No! She wouldn’t start doubting her own feelings now. Now, that her dream came true after five long arduous years.

However, she felt strange …

Zhi Shu’s mom had talked to her in hushed tones and with a lot of giggling the night before. Goodness, how embarrassed she had been. Could she do it? Could she and Zhi Shu … in bed … naked?

Oh no! Xiang Qi clasped her hands over her eyes and shook her head. All these times she had imagined something like this … Zhi Shu, her loving husband, she had to grin at the thought und looked at herself through her fingers. Zhi Shu kissing her, she giggled and fluttered her lashes.

Zhi Shu – NAKED??!!

She couldn’t do it. She’d die of embarrassment. No, she would tell him they had to wait … days, weeks, months … Oh, how was she to do that? Even her stomach felt all quivery and sore, as if butterflies with tiny teeth were fluttering inside.

She couldn’t do it.

Behind her in the mirror she saw the white nightgown Zhi Shu’s mother had given to her as a wedding gift hanging on the door. It was a simple slip of a dress, with slits on both sides and Xiang Qi doubted she would wear this thing - ever.

Could she survive in here? In the bathroom? Possibly. If Zhi Shu handed in some food from time to time.

With a sigh she closed her eyes and put her head against the mirror. This was not how she had imagined it to be. Then she had not thought she would ever end up in this situation at all. This was her wedding night. With Zhi Shu!

“What should I do?” she asked her reflection, but no answer came forth. Breathing in deeply, she picked up the nightgown. The silky material was soft and tempting and she knew she would look all womanly and seductive in it. But she couldn’t do it, could she?

With a sigh, she rummaged through the small bag she had brought with her. In it, there were the things she needed for tonight, including a t-shirt and shorts. Slowly, she pulled her night clothes on and put the rest of her things back into her bag. Clutching it against her chest, she made her way into the bed room.

She saw Zhi Shu looking out the window. The cityscape of Taipeh was aglow with many bright lights and cast a crisscrossing shadow across his face. For a moment Xiang Qi wondered what he was thinking, and what he really thought about their marriage. After all, he had wanted to wait till she had graduated from university. But his mother had hijacked this date and he had gone along. But what was he really thinking?

Biting her lower lip, Xiang Qi slowly walked over to the bed. She was tired on her feet, but would she appear too eager if she just crawled between the sheets? With a sigh, she put her bath things on a side table and didn’t know what to do.

Zhi Shu had felt her approaching the moment the bathroom door opened. If he concentrated real hard, he could even scent her. A scent that had accompanied him ever since she had moved into the house of his parents. It was uniquely Xiang Qi, though at that time he had thought it was an annoying smell. But ever since he had secretly loved the smell of cinnamon and almonds.

Slowly he turned towards the bed and had to smile when he saw Xiang Qi’s nightly attire.

Trust her to forgo the sexy, he thought.

They stood across from the bed, staring at each other. He could see she was nervous, as nervous as he felt. He wondered if his mother had given her the same well-meant but totally wasteful advice about the wedding night as his father had given him. If so, there were in for a long night.

“Xiang Qi,” he said softly and she took a step back.

“Zhi Shu …”

“Why don’t we just …” do it, touch, taste, kiss, he wanted to scream but instead he came up with a lame: “… watch some TV?”

“Sure,” Xiang Qi replied and eagerly picked up the remote. Sitting on the edge of the bed, she was frantically switching through the channels and Zhi Shu sat down tentatively, his eyes blindly staring at the screen.

For the next ten minutes Xiang Qi made a show of being totally engrossed by some silly celebrity show on TV, but her head grew more heavy by the minute and she caught herself nodding off for several times. It had been a long day, but she didn’t think it would be good to fall asleep on her wedding night, was it?

After a few more minutes of staring at the TV screen, Zhi Shu ventured a tentative look over to Xiang Qi. He had to smile when he saw her head sunk down on her chest, breathing deeply.

“Patak,” he whispered softly, moving towards her and then reclining her onto the bed. As he took the remote from her she burrowed deeper into the plush pillows with a heartfelt sigh.

“Zhi Shu …” for a moment he stopped and watched her in her sleep. “Don’t leave …”

Smiling, he shook his head.

“I won’t.”

Settling down beside her, he cradled her in his arms. Perhaps that was the best way for them to start their marriage. Tomorrow was a new day.

The end (for now)
