NaNoWriMo - oh my gosh

About a week ago I decided to throw the whole thing. I was up to barely 3.000 words and I just knew I couldn't write more with all the work and obligations going on.
I really was content (even though a slight little voice was nagging me) and persuaded myself it didn't matter.
Olly was a bit miffed that I would throw the towel so he nagged and nagged and nagged until I caved in on Friday night and I started writing again. I haven't stopped writing for 2 1/3 days and here I am ... we were snowed in ... I got cosy warm ... Olly relied on Pizza and burgers while I typed away.

I'm exhausted and still not finished ... but with the last word count I was over the 50.000 word mark - in fact the word count is now 62.958. But I'm still not finished and no editing whatsoever. I even stopped looking at the squiggly lines and yes, the story is full of them. I guess once I finish I need to do some heavy editing. There are some scenes that have to go - too fluffy or too lengthy. I think I even repeated myself when I tried to write the reflection of emotion in both characters.
Oh well, during Christmas and New Year I will do that ... I'm bushed.

Last night I caved and decided that I wasn't going to push myself anymore. I only have a little over 11k. There is no way I could make it at this point without staying up with no sleep for the next two days. I just couldn't get into it this year.

Good on you, Una. I am so happy for you. Give my regards to Olly for nagging so much. I had to throw the towel, with all the trouble here, but it was fun, while it lasted and I will definitely try again next year.

Good job! I knew there was NO way that I was going to be able to do that this year. With all the... drama and crap going on in my life, I don't have enough time to update my journal, let alone write a novel. I'm very proud of you!
