scottishlassThe subbers for FAITH are really doing their job, not only are their translations of Korean to English absolutely wonderful, they are damn fast. Monday and Tuesday ep 13 and ep14 respectively were aired on Korean TV and we already have both eps timed, subbed and well I have watched them .... umnghhg arghghg'sigh'
Ep 13 leads us in with the assassins getting killed by our wonderful, handsome and deadly woobie .. err. I mean General Choi Young of the Woodalchi!!! Omo, poor Choi Young, frost bite plus swords do not make good healing but he kills them all off one by one (though I still think there is one assassin missing!!!): Anyway, we see him walking the grounds of the palace and ah ... you big wuss you, he cleans himself off and even SNIFFS at himself because of al the blood (which thankfully is mostly stupid assassins' blood and not his own) and then he cleans himself up and waits for Eun Soo.
Meanwhile Eun Soo out of pure boredom is making soaps and toothpaste and other cosmetics and she so owns the Woodalchi and Warrior Maidens. Gosh I love it that Choi Young is like WTF? When he sees them all in the pavilion. HIS boys and the Warrior Maidens and his Woman ... Tee Hee. And all take their toothpaste dutifully with them, so wonderful :)
And we get teasing and bantering and Eun Soo is just amazing. She literally tells the General to sit like a dutiful child before his mother and she works on his wound and you just see that he is like ... D'OH! The universal stone has dropped! And they go shopping together .. well sort off but still ... OMG!!! (insert image of me wiggling in a puddle of fuzziness here) And even the Suribang leaders pick up on his different mood, he is all smiles and good mood and when they meet ES they are like: Okay, she looks pretty which is actually the sageuk version of: "Go forth and make good-looking, strong children, Boyo!"
I think it is significant that while Eun Soo told him that they are partners now, it is him who meets all requirements on the *bullet list of being in a partnership*. He looks for her in the pavilion, he insists of her telling him what happened while he was away ... he is just ... ung 'am dead'
And that Prince of the Goryeo ... Uncle to our current King, AISH, no wonder Ki Cheol knew where to find you ... birds of a feather and all of that.
And the King and Queen ... hilarious that the servant dropped the book when Lady Choi announced the Wangbimama awaits the King in her quarters with some wine!!! Hehehehe, servant get your mind out of the gutter ... still we have a love confession and hand holding which is - yet again - the Asian version of a big make out on the bed under the sheets with the lights on scene of any Hollywood movie :) Those two are just too cute.
Ki Cheol's underlings or 'pledged siblings' as they call each other despite all their supernatural powers and lacking moral principles they are sometimes the densest idiots EVER! To fall for such a stupid trick ... and Firelady all preening Oh, the General comes here to SEE ME!!! Yeah right, idiot, he played you, stupid!! I love that Choi Young is all playful here, even laughing while he throws stones (!!) at anime dude and Firelady :)
But what really killed me is that fact, not only does Choi Young buy Eun Soo a new smaller (and LIGHTER) knife (in red no less) he instructs her in knife fighting and there is the ever so copious groping!!! But of course with all that banter and smiling and all around happy-happy, the other shoe has to drop. We are talking about a Korean drama here where happiness has to be paid with hurt and betrayal and sometimes death (in a sageuk).
Choi Young finds out that Eun Soo is suffering from nightmares and it just kills him. He knows he is responsible for her being there and he has this guilt trip a mile long!!! Don't do anything stupid, boyo or I will personally gut you with a pretty knife!!!
Oh come on, Ki Cheol you can do better than that!!! That is just petty and totally unworthy of a mastermind such as you. Getting the general accused of taking bribery? As Choi Young said, why not go for high treason ... and that smug face of Ki Cheol ... I so want to smash it in. Ki Cheol I think you just made your major and most stupid mistake ... now the General of the Woodalchi is free to protect Eun Soo 24/7 and if they do not do anything stupid (like Eun Soo thinking the only way to safe Choi Young is by going back to Ki Cheol's house or something similar idiotic) you have one big mess on your hands and rightly so. A woman who gets in your face, tells you more than once in not so many words to go f##k yourself and get lost will not be pressured into being all gooey eyed with you when you threaten her significant other. She will gut you with one of her scalpels!
