Today even though I was in some pain was a good day, I even danced .. I mean not just swaying but one full blown routine I learnt years ago .. so yeah my heart was racing afterwards and I had some problems getting my breath back but I'm more determined than ever to get back into shape I was in 5 to 7 years ago. It is better for my health ... AND ... today I am officially off my cortisone medication which means I will now -without dieting too much - loose weight again. You know it is so frustrating to give up soft drinks and other sweets and you just don't loose one ounce of weight because of this chemical dren you have to take. It is disheartening :s

On my way to tutorials today I was musing about my favourite movies of all times and I realized all of a sudden in the last ten years my taste has changed from main stream Hollywood to Pan-Asian movies :)
When looking for interesting characters and even more mind-boggling story lines I have to admit that Hollywood doesn't impress me much. So yes I LOVE LOTR, and I am looking forward to Kingdom Of Heaven quite a bit, but if I have to come up with five or ten favourite movies of the past five years over half of them would be Asian ones.
So here are my top ten of the past ten years:

01. The Lord Of The Rings trilogy 2001-2003
02. Il Mare Korean romance/time travelling movie 2000
03. Pirates Of The Caribbean for the fun of it, and J. Depp and O. Bloom 2003
04. 2009 - Lost Memories Korean time travel/alternative timeline action movie 2001
05. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge Bollywood romance with SRK & Kajol, Bollywood Jodi #1 1995
06. J.S.A. Korean action thriller about the North/South Korean conflict 2001
07. Shiri aka Swiri Korean thriller about a North Korean killer infiltrating South Korea
08. Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham BIG Bollywood movie - great emotions, great dances, SEXY vids
09. The Matrix Pt. 1 Kick ass chick and cool clothes, great FX and style
10. Asoka BW movie with SRK as Asoka, the Indian emperor of old times, beautiful music, cinematography and a damn good ShahRukh. 2001

special mentions, because they are serial television:
01. Farscape the series & Farscape: The Peacekeeper Wars 1999 - 2004
02. Pride & Prejudice BBC series with Colin Firth 1995

I love your list. And the fact that several of my favorites are on it has nothing to do with it. Riiight. :)

So apart from the obvious (LOTR, SRK movies) which do you like as well? Have you seen any of the Korean ones?

The only down-part of Il Mare are the really bad English subtitles, those who did them need to get back to university again. But the whole movie is so cute and sad, and happy and I love the star crossed lovers waiting for a date when their time lines merge.
