Pirates are the best ... sometimes

scottishlassWatched PotC: AWE last night and I have to admit, even though I liked the whole piece of eight and getting the Pirate-Lords together, I was very dissatisfied with the movie as a whole. Of course, I love pirates, so on this level I will always love the franchise, but what they did to my OTP or better to my favourite character is a whole different story.
Unlike so many others who are Sparrowfans, my favourite character is and always will be Will Turner. Good, old Will, deeply honest, skillfull and patient who hated pirates with a vengeance only to find out that his Dad was one and that he follows the footsteps of his father - whether he likes it or not. And because all for love - a love that was established when he was merely ten years old for chrissake. If I hadn't known about the tag scene after the credits I would have been even more crappy about this movie than I already are.
As I said, judging from the pirate only point of view, I love it. Lots of battles, cool CGIs that don't look like CGIs and loveable pirates but from the Will POV this movie sucked, big time. :s
On Friday we went to the Rhine again (we are there every day, but not always with a camera) and His Hubbiness™ took this picture.
In the background you can see Ehrenhof (Museum of Modern Art - Museum Kunstpalast), the former Planetarium with its copper cupola which is now a concert hall, the sandstone building on the right is the Academy of Arts
Today it is sunny and relatively warm ... weather as it is supposed to be in June. I really hate it when there are no real seasons and a months that is supposed to be rainy and overcast (April) is all of a sudden hot and dry like August.
