scottishlassIt is Tuesday and I feel as if it is Monday ... it is that bad. I need a break pronto. Olly and I are on the last leg. I have to prep my pupils for the upcoming written tests and Olly on the other hand is giving out the test to his pupils and has to check them at home when they are written.
Why is it that teachers have to put all their last written tests of the term to be written in the last four to two weeks before Christmas? This is insane.
My last group last night has 5 students and of those I had to prep four to write a test during this week, so from Shakespeare, to Lessing to Stem Cell Genetics to Indirect Speech I had to juggle. I even had to scrape my mind for the Ring parable (no not Tolkien - I wish) in Nathan the sage by Lessing.
In the half light of morning the day doesn't look too bad but somehow this will be even harder than Monday as I have to stay at the STK even later than yesterday. I don't know how long I can still continue to work there, this term was really bad. I just can't understand how the government can put the bank holiday breaks so idiotically. We had end of summer break in mid August, then we had a two week holiday in end of September and only in two weeks we have the winter break. The school holiday breaks are supposed to be evenly spread but not this time. Only three weeks after a 6 weeks' break we had 2 weeks off and then after 9 weeks we get another 2 weeks Winter break. Crazy - Asshole politicians!
I guess the first thing I'll do on my Winter break is to reformat my shitty HDD, still can't play The Sims and I'm desperate to play it. I want to play it so bad, I was tempted to format everything last night. I'm desperate. Oh well perhaps not desperate, but I really need a few hours off and out of my mind.
Schwarzenegger is an asshole. I can't understand why he didn't pardon Tookie Williams. Yes, I know he supposedly killed four people, but isn't prison also a way to better a person, even if they are in death row? To pardon someone doesn't mean that person is going to be scotsfree, it just means capital punishment is turned into a life sentence and believe me, a life sentence in the US just means that ... for Life and not like here in Germany where life sentence means they can apply on premature discharge after 15 years and are most of the time granted because of good conduct.
Besides, with his books, Williams might prevent other youngsters to join gangs like the Cribs or the Bloods. Isn't that something? But oh yeah I forgot, only Blacks join these gangs and what does the government care if Black ppl kill each other off. *shrug*
Oh and Governour Schwarzenegger? To study a case file till *gasp* 11 PM at night isn't really considered something astonishing. If you had burned the midnight oil I might have been impressed, but 11PM? Please!! That's not even worth mentioning, you idiot.
Well shortly before 8 AM, need to get going. Off to the grinder again.
