"I want you to get into the deep beautiful melancholy of everything that's happened."

Just got access to my FTP server again even though the connection is not that fast :s Hopefully I can get some of the m.i.t.m. update out of the way and clean up the database of the site a bit. Someone tried to hack the professional server I have my websites on and it seems there was another breach of security. I was able to upload a back-up earlier this week but some data was unretrievably lost.

Oh well.
I don't know what is happening to me ... Somehow this week has just passed me by. I had so much to do that I barely got to my email and those who have sent me stuff this week, please excuse my tardiness. I have a new client who almost occupies my 24/7 (which I hate) and I even neglected Olly.
The only thing I'm looking forward to is the Regency Evening in early December. Not even my birthday can entice much *sigh*.
Anyway, the Regency Evening will be fun, we are celebrating Christmas 1806 ... I have prepared a little poem from this time and also a little something about Scottish and English Christmas customs of that time as the others are all *Republicans* (re-enactors of the Napoleonic Empire). A little British subversiveness will do them good ;-)
I still have to sew myself a new outfit for the evening. Even though I love the white one, I want a green one now and I bought the most beautiful muslin. It is dyed forest green with dark green and gold handprinted palm leaves on it. Very nice.
Additionally, I will attend the Regency event in March on Schloss Zeilitzheim where we will be living almost like 200 years ago.
Here is the schedule for the weekend:

Arrival, Time Jump to 1806
Small Dinner

All day Saturday:

Returning home

I'm quite resolved to be one of my ancestors ... either a Scot and I am fortunate enough to have found a Lady of the MacDougalls who would have been my age in 1806 and married to a MacRanald. Or then again I could also impersonate one of my ancestors from my mother's/great-grandfather's side, Auguste Sophie Freifrau von Axleben, Magnus gen.
Until then I have to get my wardrobe updated a little bit ... at least two more day dresses as well as a spencer, another bonnet and a second chemise. Additionally, all the little things like nightgown, shift, handkerchiefs and writing material, every day essentials. Nanny and I want to be as historically correct as possible, which means we will be bringing much more than just a little bag and some stuff - it will include hat boxes, picnick hampers, various wicker suitcases filled with little travel writing desks and what not :) Though we both draw a line at using a chamber pot. But then again ... NO WAY! I had to use one when I was little because it was too scary/cold to go downstairs during the night in the old house we were occupying. Especially as they were community bathrooms and shared with other ppl from the two apartments not occupied by family in the house. I don't want to do that ever again!
