with so much work in the garden .. and the house, I forgot to tell you that we have ...

a new foster dog ...
Poppy, Dachshound/Chihuahua mix, 4 years old, was found abandoned in an apartment by a landowner after the former tenant had moved out ... a week after the day of the move.
Despite that she is a healthy, happy little girl - very gentle and wonderful. A real sweetheart. With just one big problem. She cannot stay alone without a human present. We are training her, but this is the only training she outright refuses ... she is very intelligent, can all commands (down, sit, stay, roll over, high five etc.) yet she won't stay alone, which is no surprise considering her former ordeal I guess.

She's so cute! How could anyone have abandoned her? She's very lucky to have ended up with foster parents who are going to get her ready to be adored by a new family one day. And you're right: it's totally understandable that she's afraid of being alone. Here's hoping she soon figures out that the rest of the world won't disappoint her the way her first family did.

wow, she is super-cute!!! so sad that people treat their pets this way. a lot of the times it's cats they just leave behind, who become strays. sniff sniff! glad she's happy with you and hope you can help her over her "issues"!

She is adorable, you took her some wonderful photos!
Of course she might not learn to stay alone, but as you said you can't really blame her. Being abandoned is a deep trauma some pets might never get over.

On another note, the reason I came by was to make sure you have read my reply about Hitoshi's hair. There has been a long time since you asked, but I wanted to make sure since you didn't reply back. I'd hated it if you thought I had ignored you.

I read about your health issues. I do hope you are feeling better these days. Be brave, and give your Poppy extra cuddles and kisses from me. :)
