WTF?!

Only minutes after I wrote my last entry, I got friended by a whole bunch of Russians who only write in Kyrillic in their own journals (if at all). What is it? Do they use word filters or something and anything to do with r.a.p.e gets friended? Goodness me :s

Ew. Maybe I'm paranoid, but those journals always feel like they're just there for the purpose of "watching" us. I've been friended by tons of those as well and it always freaks me out.

Oh no, no! To tell the truth I was attracted by the pictures (what a lovely bunch of animals you have!) surfing the net, and I don't know anything about other Russians, sorry.

I only write in Cyrillic because I tend to use my native tongue when communicating with my LJ friends most of whom happen to be Russian (suprise!) but I can use English "in Wort und Schrift" quite efficiently so I thought it would be nice following you.

I couldn't help noticing your inclination to speak German, too and that was another thing that helped make the move. I am trying to master the language, albeit half-heartedly.

How creepy! My lj has been friends-only for a long time, so when I occasionally get friended by what seems to be a scary lj, I just ignore it and it generall goes away (ie: defriends me) on its own. But I do have one Russian friend who writes entirely in Cyrillic (except if he addresses a post to me, like a recent get-well lemur), but he's a photographer - a really good one - and though I never asked, I think that's how he found me. And I'll just comment on his photos in English and we'll converse in the comments.

Hi there ... sorry about that. You were the 8th or 9th Russian who friended me after my last entry about the murder here in my neck of the woods.

I only write German occasionally as most of my LJ friends are from other countries.

Dito, I have two Russian friends who write mostly in Kyrillic in their LJs and we converse in English, but we have two fandoms in common.
