Realizing ...

I just realized while setting up my dreamwidth account, that this year, to this very month, my live journal account is 9 years old. I started LJ on 1st of September 2001.

With the current nebulous status of whether or not our entries are safe here on LJ, I have set up a mirror account on dreamwidth. Same user name, and importing all entries with the same bells and whistles and protection. So ppl migrating from LJ can keep in contact with me. http://scottishlass.dreamwidth.org/

Six Apart who owns LJ has aquired Twitter and is now running a repost and pingback of ALL (and I mean ALL) entries and comments made on LJ to Twitter and Facebook. You have to deliberately turn OFF the settings otherwise even protected entries will show up on your Facebook wall or on Twitter. Ppl are so pissed off atm that they are leaving LJ in bunches.
So in order to keep in contact with ppl who left LJ and moved to dreamwidth, I have made a mirror for my LJ so they keep in touch with me. A lot of ppl are doing so ...

I've created an account already using the same username I have here ;) and added you to my circle... I'm still trying to figure out how everything works... however I really want to keep my LJ and using it... I created that one just in case ;)

I just added you to my circle there (sparksofember) though I haven't finished setting up over there or really done anything with it yet. I read your explanation of what's going on - I had heard that something was going on but didn't know what - thanks for clearing it up!
