All sites will be down tomorrow
Sep. 10th, 2004 04:36 pmProcedure as every year - tomorrow 11/09 all my sites will be closed for the day for obvious reasons.
And if I get complaints this year again (like the last two) I'll post their stupidity (mails) with full addresses here in this journal. Let's see if I can inconvenience them a bit more.

Date: 2004-09-11 05:10 am (UTC)I still have a picture of the twin towers with a yellow ribbon outside my door (I guess you noticed). I lost a friend in the North Tower I went to school with and who wanted to come back to Germany on a holiday that would have started on September 14th.
Closing my sites since 9/11 2001 on this very day is all I can do to show her I still think of her.

Closing down is my way of saying I won't forget. I cannot forget that these terrorists have and still continue to take something vital from me. A friend of 28 years, hope and the knowledge of safety.

Date: 2004-09-17 05:37 pm (UTC)Hi, I just found your journal after searching around the net for your Farscape fics. I'd read them years ago and loved it and wanted to see what you'd been up to lately.
Anyhow, I'm glad I tracked you down because if I have never told you how much I appreciated your Farscape fics then it is high time. I think you are a very talented writer.
I read your 02:46 am September 12th, 2004 entry. All I can say is that I am truly sorry for your loss. I realise that mere words can do nothing to change what happened nor take the pain away. I cannot even begin to imagine how you must feel. I knew no one directly that had been killed in the attack, but when I woke up that Tuesday morning and turned on the TV only to see the news reports, I can honestly say I have never felt such horror and fear in my heart--once I got past the half-hour or so of denial.
Shutting your sites down for a day is very thoughtful and there is no reason why you should not honour your friend's memory the way you see fit. If others complain, tell them to create their own sites that can stay open 24/7.

Date: 2004-09-19 03:31 pm (UTC)Thank you for your considerate words.
I haven't been around in Farscape fandom due to health problems and I haven't written a lot of fics, be it FS or anything else recently :-(
Glad you like the fics though. :)
9/11 was and still is a big issue in my life. I don't think of that day every day of my life, but it is quite always in the foreground of my mind.
