Colour me amazed ...
Dec. 24th, 2007 01:22 pmYou know what really amazes (and annoys me a certain bit) is when all those crafters post pictures of their newest creations and/or their houses/apartments and every thing is so clutter-FREE. (examples are here, here and here
Take all those picture of picture-perfect christmas trees complete with nice, artistic, stylishly furnished surroundings. Or the nicely draped WIP on a table with a pictoresque cup of tea and a plate of cookies nearby.
My pictures always look as if I live in a very cluttered (read: messy) apartment. There is either all those tufts of fur from Cenour even if I have hoovered and wiped the floor mere minutes ago, or the clutter in the background, every day stuff like magazines, books, sewing projects or ... or ... or! Have some ppl some secret weapon ... a master-unclutter-switch they throw every time they take a picture? I am soooooo amazed and frustrated :s
*sigh*
Well at least here is a pic of my latest project .. a freehand log cabin quilt for His Hubbiness

Date: 2007-12-24 03:17 pm (UTC)however, I've always suspected that moms just have a magical ability to clean things better than me. maybe those women are moms?
HAPPY CHRISTMAS! umm.... *tries to remember German* herzlichen Weinachsfest! nope, *cheats and looks it up* Frohe Weihnachten!

Date: 2007-12-24 06:24 pm (UTC)But I do what you mean. All the crafters' blogs I visit show so tidy and clean and with-everything-in-perfect-place photos that I envy them.
I do have space but with a little kid is impossible to have everything in place and I just can't be cleaning and tidying every single day. I like my house in order, clean and tidy but I'm not obsessed about it.
I wonder what those virtuous women do, really! It's simply amazing. However that doesn't mean their crafts are better than yours ;) I really like how they look. I'd love to see the result once is finished!
Merry Christmas lady! ;)

Date: 2007-12-27 09:41 am (UTC)What is a "freehand cabin log"? I recently bought a knitting kit which I hope to start tomorrow and finish off before work starts again (on 2nd Jan). If I do finish it, it'll be a real accomplishment *grin*

Date: 2007-12-27 09:54 am (UTC)I think it will be fun to look after Baby Zayd. Please tell your family to have a save journey, please be careful on their haji (we always hear about crushings and stuff).
A freehand log cabin (sorry I mistyped it in my entry) is the way, the individual fabric pieces are put together. Normally a quilt is formed from triangular pieces but a log cabin quilt has oblong pieces like wooden logs and put together like the old log cabins in the US.

Date: 2007-12-27 10:10 am (UTC)Taking care of Baby Zayd has been fun but can also be tiring. The good thing is that he's such a delightful child, and hardly cries at all (unless you muck up his sleeping/eating schedule). He's willing to be carried by anyone (unlike some babies who only want to be carried by their mum/dad/nanny) and doesn't have problems with eating/drinking milk. The only thing I can't do as yet is change his diapers and give him a bath (sister doesn't allow me yet, thinking I'm not strong enough to hold him when bathing ~ he's quite a big baby!).
Thanks for the info, re: freehand log cabin :) I like the one you make. Crafts are so cool. My sister is pretty good at that kind of stuff too. She's currently knitting some clothes for Baby Zayd and has promised to knit me a bolero ^^
