Chica approved of my Sakura tote bag ... it is big enough to hide inside, or just use it as a beach blanket :)

We spent the afternoon at the river again and did a bit of barbequeing. It was fun and now we are all set to do it again next week.

Yes, I did finish on Friday and used it already. It got a bit bigger than I had anticipated so now it is the perfect bag to carry Chica around in *lol*

We had a couple of days without rain now, and of course, the sun suddenly was so intense and hot that it was really awful and almost unbearable.
But it has gotten colder now which is a nice treat. I can't stand heat too well (and neither do the dogs although they come from Spain originally).

I don't like the heat, either, and Shoji really hates it! funny, the breeder I got him from told me that "the black dogs don't like the sun " and it's totally true! My salt-and-pepper Schnauzers used to lie in the sun all the time, but this one HATES it!

It is strange :) Chica and Cenour don't like the heat at all. I guess they had enough in Spain. Besides it is a different heat over here with a lot of humidity which annoys Chica to no end (and me too) :)

ya, it's REALLY dry here, so if we ever get any humidity at all it feels absolutely unbearable! Plus, it's not usually hotter than maybe 80–85 degrees, so most people don't have air conditioning!

Until a few years ago we didn't have any AC at all, but nowdays, with a couple of really hot summers under the belt, there are now movable AC available.
We still have only a huge electical fan as support.

once the heat gets into the apartment it's hard to get it out, but it's still not nearly as bad as it was in Chicago! OMG, there it would feel like I had an electric blanket heating up my bed when I lay down to sleep! It just never seemed possible to cool off!
