This winter in jdorama land

With Japanese winter season almost in full swing, there are a lot of doramas coming out in the next couple of days:

- Honey and Clover (Hachimitsu to Kuroobaa)
- Koshonin~THE NEGOTIATOR~
- Mirai koushi meguru
- One-Pound Gospel (Ichi Poundo no Fukuin)
- Bara no nai Hanaya
- Binbou Danshi (Bonbiimen)
- Daisuki!!
- Shikaotoko Awoniyoshi
- Sasaki Fusai no Jingina Kitatakai

Me personally, I'll be looking forward to three to four doramas this season:
鹿男あをによし (Shikaotoko Awoniyoshi) The Deer Man
with Tamaki Hiroshi and Ayase Haruki. The synopsis for this drama is a bit bizarre. Based on the Naoki price winning novel Shikaotoko Awoniyoshi Tamaki plays a good-for-nothing teacher who gets assigned to a girls' high school in Nara. By a twist of fate, he becomes a "deer man". A protector of the deers in Nara Park, which stand for the stability of Japan (much like the ravens in the tower of London)
Ayase plays his partner, a teacher in the social studies department that is a "history otaku."

So we can expect romance for a bit of the drama, as the original character in the novel that is played by Ayase was actually a guy married with children.
starts airing on Fuji TV on 17th January

薔薇のない花屋 (Bara no nai Hanaya)The Flower Shop without a Rose
with Katori Shingo, Takeuchi Yuko and Matsuda Shota
WOHOO!! After a short guest stint in last season's Galileo we get a Shingo drama again at last!!
Shingo-chan plays Shiomi Eiji, a manager of a flower shop who takes care of his daughter after the death of his wife. He meets Mio (Yuko), a blind woman who lives a young man (Shota). The drama then tells the story of father and daughter dealing with loss, being a small family unit and dealing with the ppl around them.

Hmmmm... even though Shingo is good with kids as he showed in various SxS Specials and in Hito ni Yasashiku I can't see him as a manager of a flower shop with a kid. We will see ... the drama starts on 14th January on Fuji TV.

Last but not least there will be 佐々木夫妻の仁義なき戦い (Sasaki Fusai no Jingina Kitatakai) The Life and Trials of the Sasaki Couple
with Inagaki Goro, Koyuki, Koide Keisuke
Another SMAP member having a winter drama out. Hmmm ... a comedy about a married couple of three years which have to get councelling after Sasaki Ritsuko (Koyuki) stops taking care of the household and they get into fights. Inagaki plays Sasaki Norimichi, the husband. Can we expect black comedy like War of the Roses?
Airing starts on 20th January on TBS

Oh and there will be two more dramas which come out in the summer. The adaption of Korean My Sassy Girl with Kusanagi Tsuyoshi and Tanaka Rena. As well as a yet unannounced drama starring Kimura Takuya. SMAP men are sure busy this year :)
