Funny that :)
May. 7th, 2005 06:49 amRewatched Monsoon Wedding last night and even though I still love the movie as much (if not even more) than the first time I watched it, there is one BIG flaw in the movie. It is far too short!!!
I guess I have seen so many epic films recently (both Hollywood and Bollywood) that I have grown accostumed to the fact that a complete story is told and not just hinted at.
After all the heartache Shefali Shetty(Chhayya)'s character Ria had to go through I would have loved to see her (hinted at) love with Umang. Jeesh only two *blink and you miss it* exchanged looks between Ria and Umang (and one of them even in the credits of the movie). I would have loved to see how their story would have developped right after the wedding and all.
*sigh* I guess I either have to write my own version of this or just grumble along :)
On a different issue, I'm SOOOOOOOOO GLAD that both Ben AND Claudia have won the Saturn's this year. They more than deserved it. For five years (with a break of 1 1/2) years they ruled the tv screens with their on-going and growing love depicted between Aeryn and John. Those two deserve all the successes they hopefully reap in now. And it is good to see them doing a show together even though, as BB put it, they don't share many scenes together on SG-1.
I think one of the reasons why I love Kajol and SRK onscreen so much is the fact that they very much remind me of Ben and Claud. I love OTPs ever since J/A ... I mean I thought it always cheesy and most of the time I ignored it (like Shane/Nathan & Shane/Cooper or Wang/Damphousse in Space:AAB) but with Farscape I got into a whole different ball game. Ever since Aeryn Sun whipped Moya's cell floor with John Crichton's ass I have been an avid shipper for those two, and Kaj/SRK in their various roles have been doing the same for me.
I just love both the angsty and romantic sides of couple, especially if they are such good on-screen couples as Claudia Black/Ben Browder and Kajol/SRK.
I guess all I can say is ... Long Live the JODIs :)
