In good times and bad ...
Feb. 7th, 2007 06:46 amThe IV treatment pretty much knocked me out yesterday, I felt nauseous and weak. I slept between visits to the bathroom and Chica and Cenour kept me company on the sofa which resulted in me almost falling off. As small as Chica is she sure appears to be huge once she takes over the sofa. And Cenour, oh well he likes to stay on my legs and afterwards I'm never sure if I can ever walk again (he weighs about 20 kilos now). Anyway, I didn't sleep well so I decided to stay up and write a bit but I still have to write three reviews and work for a living as well *sigh*
Hope to catch some sleep this morning after I have finished a last editing for one of my authors. At least he is a good writer and I only have to focus on his scripting and coding in the book. Tonight I will probably layout the whole thing and it will go into final QC and printing tomorrow. Atm I don't have a new project in the pipeline, but I think I will take a time out for the time being. I will probably tutor a bit but for the moment I am quite happy not to work too much as I keep having little incidents like blakc outs. Nothing too serious as I'm used to that during chemo but it is annoying.
Oh, yeah - da meme ...

Date: 2007-02-07 06:56 am (UTC)So Una... when you have those "black outs" do you faint all of a sudden?? And how long do they usually last? If you do pass out, wow, I hope it's not anywhere too random otherwise it might be dangerous >_<
And your Japanese name rocks! ^^;; Aiko? Takashi? Cool. Mine's Tori which literally means chicken. Eeeek.
PS. LOVE your new Kimura mood themes.

Date: 2007-02-08 08:49 am (UTC)Don't worry, Dian, I don't faint. These black outs I'm referring to are more like total blanks of mind. I had them during my first, second etc. chemo as well. but then they happened to be during class or something and that was embarrassing. Mostly, I can't remember for a moment or two what I have been doing or where I am. it is annoying and the first few times it is also scary as hell, but I got used to them and I try to not let myself worry too much. It is just the whole system reacting to the drugs and all and up till now I only had it once while I was on a walk with the dogs, otherwise they were all at home or at least inside a building.

Give me a call or e-mail me, maybe Olli can drive you. It would be lovely.
If you don't feel up to it - which I could understand - we find a date, when I visit you in Düsseldorf again.
All the best

Date: 2007-02-09 05:25 am (UTC)I think I have fainted twice in all my life, scary as hell and always related to low bloodpressure. :)

Date: 2007-02-09 07:25 am (UTC)OMG. No wonder you felt like a tree. 12 hours? I can't imagine. But sometimes traditional wedding costumes in Indonesia are like that (not what I'd want for myself though) :D My sister for her wedding wore this head decoration that must have dug into her skin/head. Really heavy stuff >_>
