Sun drenched days ...
Apr. 19th, 2009 11:29 pmThis weekend was wonderful ... a lot of warm breezes, sun-filled days and intoxicating scents from wonderful blooms.
We re-discovered some wonderful childhood places. What is so funny is that even though His Hubbiness has lived here all his life, he never went to these place as a child. My great-grandfather took me on Sundays and it was wonderful, one of my fondest childhood memories.
Saturday was not so sunny but it was warm and we set out at a leisurely pace, esp. because of Cenour who still is recovering. We visited the small hunting residence that housed a fashion school until a few years ago. Sadly, now the little castle as well as all the neighbouring Tudor houses are empty and very derelict. It is a shame and Cenour and I went from one door to the next, peeped into many windows and already found our favourite house :)
The castle with a moat

The yard in front of the castle

My favourite house in the yard, it is a corner home with three storeys and a balcony in the front and back.

Back view of the house, the moat is in front but there is a small overgrown garden as well.

I also tried my hand on macro shots but as it was too dim, the colours didn't come out as brilliant as they were in reality. Still, the photos turned out well, if I may say so myself.

On Sunday we visited the North Park, which hasn't changed much since I have been a child. The water displays are still intact and they still plant tulips and mums in a way that is so reminiscient of the 1950's, candy colours included.

In a part of the park, there is a wonderful Japanese garden and the cherry trees are in full bloom, it looked fantastic but too many ppl were there and disturbed the tranquility of the whole scene.

While hubby was taking pictures, I sat with Chandini and Cenour beneath a tree and watched the masses of people enjoying the scenery.
