Happy Birthday to
calixa !!! Omedettou!!
I have been rummaging through my CD and album rack and have found some really nice treasures. I think the 1980's were a good time for music, especially the new wave, electric body music.
Strangely enough I almost know the texts of all the songs from that time but had a hard time remembering my logarithms for my final math exam in 1987 *lol* Good thing I came into contact with that kind of music - contrary to the pop of that era - first thing when I became interested in music in a serious way of *I buy my first single*. I guess my inclination for the special, unique and a bit bizarre comes from that time.
Anyway, here are a few songs ...
O.M.D. - Maid of Orleans
Depeche Mode - Master and Servant
And just for the heck of it and as I have this very first single by the Modes in happy shiny red vinyl - I just can't get enough:
Duran Duran - Save A Prayer (still one of my favourite ever DD and all time songs)
Kate Bush - Hounds of Love
Adam & The Ants
Ultravox - Vienna
The Cure - Killing An Arab (No not an anti-racist song! But the first ever song I heard of The Cure and I was in love :D)
The Clash - London Calling
The Smiths - There is a light that never goes out
Hmm somehow I see a pattern here ... :D
The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary
The Fields of the Nephilim - Moonchild
A bit later (1990) but still good music AND I saw this very concert live at it was in my hometown, and was recorded there.
The Mission - Kingdom Come
Last but not least Die Krupps (Which would be THE Krupps) - a band from my hometown :D
