Spring Cleaning

This weekend ... the first days off in weeks ... I have decided to do some spring cleaning. In our apartment, my head, my websites (especially m.i.t.m.) and my writing.
*sigh*
I finished a job today with a really recalcitrant author who thinks he is God's given gift on Earth in computer books. I don't think so. When I told him that his descriptions of a particular intricate DHTML codes were unreadable, he had the chuzpe to tell me that I didn't know shit about that subject. HELLO??? Who is the working web designer here? Who has a PhD in English Lit and a MA in German Lit? Jesus on a crutch. This guy should be taken down a peg or two. And the codes were taken from the internet, he didn't even bother to clean them up or write completely new codes. But then this is an author for one of the most disrespectable computer book publishing houses here in G., so there.
I wonder why I even took him up? I mean it isn't as if I don't have enough clients to choose from. But then again I couldn't resist the teary SOS from one of my former co-workers who is still enslaved as product manager (a newly invented word for editor) at said publishing house.
But what really got me riled up when he was on the phone with me and snarking some stupid drivel about wannabe writers who become editors because they will never pass the bar. Oh that little wanker! His books wouldn't sell as well as they do (though I ask myself why they sell so well) if he hadn't good editors. We make or break books.
ARGH!!! I need to calm down but this ... this ... bleh!!! I guess he won't be working with me anymore, not after I told him some piece of my mind. Oh well, I can live with that.
Need to clean up some chapters of my NaNoWriMo project from last year. Wannabe writer indeed.
Now for something absolutely delicious: Keep your fingers crossed for a special someone who is circulating some of her writings in the next few weeks to several publishing houses and who will probably get a short story published in an anthology.![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
little_witch27 I believe in you. You will make it. Why oh why did I branch into computer books when I started to work as an editor? Just because I also was a skillfull webdesigner ... I really should try to get into fiction book side of editing, non-fiction is just too dreary and uncreative.
