Snuffed ...
Mar. 26th, 2006 01:19 pmGoodness me, I have been so busy I even forgot to write in my diary. That is unbelievable. But then again I am supervising three authors whose books will be in the presses during Easter time and we are working on a tight deadline. Not that I don't enjoy it, but at the end of the day I'm so exhausted, I feel like the proverbial candle that has been snuffed.
Chica is a wonderful dog, she has been here now for three weeks and it seems she never was anywhere else. She still has nightmares from time to time where she whimpers and whines in her sleep, and needs lots of TLC afterwards, but all in all she slipped into our life effortlessly and very much has taken us all by surprise. We had expected to have a damaged dog, a dog that was not housebroken, a dog that might be incredibly shy and cautious. What we got is a little grande dame who breaks the hearts of all male dogs here and who has captured our hearts like a little whirlwind. Olly and I are incredibly glad to be the parents to this little bitch (And she can be bitchy sometimes). Considering that she was in one of those killing stations in Spain and that she would have been dead by now, I am so angry with her former owners who just dumped her there, but on the other hand, I'm glad they did what they did so we could have her.
