Just saw the movie Tere Naam with Salman Khan and Bhoomika Chawla.
It is the story of Radhe Mohan (Salman Khan), a young man, who hangs out at his college. He lives with his brother (Sachin Khedekar), a doting sister-in-law, and their daughter. Even though he is a thug and loves a good fight, he takes care of his community and deals with any bullies quickly that might threaten his friends and community members, thus he is respected by everyone. Radhe comes across Nirjara (Bhumika Chawla), daughter of a temple priest who is timid by nature and has just entered the city college.

Radhe loses his heart to her for her simplicity and innocence and dreams of making her life partner but she does not reciprocate his feelings and rejects him. The heartbroken Radhe kidnaps her, trying to persuade her with some really nasty things (verbal torture). What he doesn't know is that he saves Nirjara's elder sister. When Nirjara returns home and to her fiance, he informs her of this incident. She realizes - despite all he did to her and told her - that she is in love with Radhe but before she can tell Radhe, he loses his sanity after a violent attack by gangsters.

Admitted to a traditional asylym by a doctor, Radhe is chained like a murderer to his cell. He doesn't know what is happening to him and after some time when he hears that Nirjara is getting married he gathers up enough strength to flee from the mental asylym.
But he is too late ... Nirjara, knowing she cannot be together with Radhe, takes poison on her night of her sangeet and kills herself. Radhe, knowing that he cannot live without her lets himself being taken by the asylym orderlies ... he knows his life is over...

WOW, Salman Khan can surely act. He impressed me as the insanity driven Radhe. Apart from the silly haircut in the first half of the movie as well as the gratuious chest shots, he really impressed me as a serious dramatic actor.
He fits well into the role of an obsessive lover. He gives out the impression of a vulnerable man beneath the tough exterior and his pain, his tears, his very soul was poured into the character of Radhe Mohan.
Well done, Salman!

Bhoomika Chawla as the very simple and tradionally raised Nirjara was also very good. She played the shy simpleton (and she is a simpleton with all her brownie salute and all) very well.

All in all, if you like star-crossed lovers' melodrama, this movie is definitely a must see. Well directed, well acted, and the music is also okay.
